Friday FAIL

Not everyone is impressed with Fifty Shades of Grey. Here are some of the reactions to it that I found on the interwebs. (You may need to click on the images to enlarge them.)

Thanks for sharing the photos.

Smile and Happy Friday.

Fun ones Hermione especially the note to mom.

A British women's charity is urging women to burn the book on 5th November, Bonfire night.

I love the caution cone on the floor. They were all funny - I'm not sure any of them are fails.

Joey - It will be interesting, to say the least. Let's hope it isn't a flop like 9 1/2 Weeks.

lilmisses - Yes, I laughed too.

SNP - Happy Friday to you too.

Ronnie - That should be an event worth watching. The smoke will be 50 shades of grey too!

Sunnygirl - Quite a coincidence, but funny.

Hugs,
Hermione

I could not agree more! I haven't read the book myself, and it doesn't sound like something I'll be picking up any time soon. (I don't tend to follow large trends anyway)

But for whatever reason, any friends I have who are starting to read the book AND/OR getting into some sort of kink-lifestyle seem to want to discuss it with me... which is odd, as I am pretty white-cream vanilla as far as anyone on the outside is concerned.

Hahaha. Thank you for making this funny. Really want it to go away :)

I wonder if the son who wrote that note, puts a not on every romance novel his mom reads?

I especially like the note to mom... :-)

I think the note is funny too. Of course I do not get what the big deal is regarding the books. Pick up a romance novel from the 80s. lol

Love the note to Mom and the caution sign Lol. Hmm, wonder what the reaction to be movie will be!

Autumn - It's funny how BDSM is now an acceptable topic in the vanilla world.

Emen - I can't imagine it going away any time soon.

DR - He probably knows exactly what's in this particular book she's reading.

Terps - That's my favourite one too.

Minelle - True, but the spanking in them is not widely advertised.

Roz - Depends how bad (or good) it is, and how faithful it is to the book.

Hermione

Hi, Hermione. First time commenting here, but I drop by to browse when I have a few minutes. I enjoy your blog, and your wit and warmth. Besides, if your avatar is anything to judge by, any friend of Hermione and the other "Potter" crew is a friend of mine.

What IS the draw on these "Fifty" books? I haven't read them, but I've seen many comments on ttwd blogs saying they lack most of anything that constitutes good literature. There are tons of steamy books out there, particularly if you read from decades past. I wasn't going to bother, but have decided I'll pick them up if I find the set at the used book store - just to see what all the hoopla is about.

And, @ Red: LOL!

Red - It's hard to imagine our own parents or grandparents having a sex life.

Irishey - Welcome, and thank you for your kind words.

You are quite right about the books. It isn't fair to judge them without having read them. Our local adult shop is giving away copies free.

Hugs,
Hermione

I just find it hilarious that the store with the "caution" signs has the books next to hello kitty and other kid's books. uummmmm ;)

YL - I didn't notice that! Thanks for pointing it out.

I can't say I liked the books but the images certainly did make me laugh. I wonder how many were set up deliberatly (I would hope someone had fun with it!)
