Frankly, I think he handled it about as well; as anyone could have!
Of course my preferred ending would be (wife speaking) "excellent, and long overdue, and if your company policies permit moonlighting, I'd like your colleague to come by our house, every Tuesday and Friday, I have work for her...."
In charge of incentive and retribution? Very interesting. It's a concept that companies should at least try out.
