Wednesday WIN

Happy Hallowe'en, everyone. To celebrate the spooky occasion, here are some costumes from this year's 22nd annual Tompkins Square Hallowe'en Dog Parade in New York City.

Butthead is my favourite.

Here are some more that I thought were particularly funny and creative.

All pictures came from this page.  Check it out for many more hilarious and very creative costumes, and find out who the winner was.

  3. Oh dear,

I'm very sorry, Hermione, but I think I would call some of these a fail...

No one's dog should ever be wearing handcuffs!

  4. Roz - I think they get used to it over the years.

Ronnie - I liked it too.

Lady K - Who knows? Maybe it's quite common in NYC :-)

    Hugs,
    Hermione

  7. What a riot! The 50 shades? OMG dogs?
    I too love butt head.

  8. SNP - Happy Hallowe'en to you too!

    Joey - You're most welcome.

Minelle - The fact that two dogs appeared in 50 Shades costumes makes e wonder how many others were dressed that way but didn't get their pictures posted.

    Hugs,
    Hermione

  9. I love the corgi (now isn't that a coincidence).
The look on his face is so clearly: "OK, I have done it for you. Now can we please return to normal? I'm SOOOO ashamed of this."

  10. As amusing as these were I promise any dog that I ever share my life with, that I will never dress them up as anything.

  11. Very cute. I couldn't dress up my doggies in SM regalia, though, what if they discovered they liked it? Where would it end?

  12. Hi Hermione,
This is a little off topic but it does fit in with the day. My husband and I were downtown on Saturday night, near one of the more popular streets for clubbing. Of course many young adults were in Halloween costumes - the usual clowns, cops, nurses, etc. It raised some questions which you may enjoy:

What do prostitutes dress up as for Halloween? What about transvestites? Catholic school girls?

We were having a good laugh coming up with answers!

Hope you enjoyed and have a spooktacular night!

  13. They are so cute but I feel so bad for the dogs. They hate it so.

    Happy Halloween to you

  14. Bas - I think Corgies are very sweet, and patient too, to put up with that costume.

Prefectdt - I don't dress mine up either, but it's very common.

Lill Ian - That's a can of worms you wouldn't want to open:-)

A Lurker - that's so funny! I suppose they dress as whatever the opposite is.

Zoe - And the same to you!

Sunnygirl - I suspect some of them enjoy the attention.

    Hugs,
    Hermione

  15. A friend of mine went to a home improvement store and took a ton of little paint sample cards. He showed up at our Halloween party with the cards all around his neck and said "Look, I'm 50 Shades of Grey!" *rolling eyes*

  16. Lea - LOL! That's similar to one of the ideas for costumes in our national paper. Wear a bathing suit, then attach hundreds of grey paint samples to it (how? hot glue gun?) so that it looks like a mini-dress. Carry a rope and wear boots to complete the ensemble.

    Hugs,
    Hermione
