Farewell, Dear Friend

Another blog has bitten the dust. Our good friend and regular blogger Prefectdt has lost his blog. I thought Blogger was the only platform that unexplainedly wiped blogs from the interwebs. But no, it seems Wordpress does the same. His blog with links to all other spanking blogs is still operational here.

You can still visit the archive of Spankedhortic II -- 14 years in all, that's quite a record -- in the Wayback Machine. I hope that someday a new blog called Spankedhortic III will arise from the ashes. In the meantime, there's always a home for you here.

We'll miss you, Prefectdt.

  1. I had wondered what happened. This level of censorship is scary. There was nothing in Spankedhortic II that I would ever consider inappropriate, so if that got wiped, I no longer believe anyone is safe. I'm glad he has back-up. When mine was removed I lost everything, including some essays that I had put a lot of effort into. I wonder who's next?

  2. It's a shame to lose a good blog run by and really good person. Spankedhortic was a coffe read for me every morning. I'm going to miss Spanking Spectacles!

  3. Yes me too. I checked it out every morning, sometimes had a chuckle, always thought the pics were hot and the captions clever. Thankyou Prefectdt!!

  4. Thanks everyone, that means a lot to me. I was sited as posting sexually explicit material (wonder if it was the Kami Tora Genitalia that did for the blog?) to which I have to say, “Guilty as charged”. I am considering starting another blog. But I thought that I would get spanked and have a good think about what that blog would be like. Thank you so much for the tribute, Hermione.

  5. MESSAGE FOR "KD PIERRE:"

    Yes, I was also sorry when Google (corporate fascists) executed your blog.

    However, it is still FULLY accessible on the Internet Archive (AKA: "WaybackMachine"; AKA: web.archive.org), if you know to to access that data. (Data underneath the "Sensitive Content" overlay.)

    (1) Use the Internet Archive to bring up the history of the main entry page to your blog;

    (2) Select the most appropriate date among the many snapshots that the Archive recorded;

    (3) When that blog entry appears, you will NOT be able to view any contents because of the "Sensitive Content" overlay;

    (4) So, save that entire page (SAVE AS A "TEXT FILE" with your browser) onto your hard-drive;

    (5) Open that text file with your browser;

    (6) The "Sensitive Content" overlay will be GONE;

    (7) What you will see is the ENTIRE content of the original page, including all of the HTML and JavaScript formatting commands;

    (8) From there, it is reasonably easy to find, cut and paste, and then separately save whatever personal text you might need.

    (Any questions, post a message over at Dan's blog: "Disciplined Hubbies . . .")

    1. Thanks Donn for that. There was one entry in particular (gods of comedy) that I really felt gut-punched about. If I could retrieve even just that one piece, I'd feel like I found buried treasure in my own backyard.

    2. Update. It seems as though my blog is not accessible. Unless I'm not doing this correctly?

  6. I'm so sorry to hear this. Argh! The censorship is scary! Always enjoyed visiting Prefectdt and hope he does return. Unfortunately though, for some time now I haven't been able to access WordPress blogs. I think it's due to security settings etc on my old tech.

    Hugs

  7. I've started double-posting most of my posts, using Blogger as the primary but posting to WordPress as a backup. But, I had heard that WP also censors blogs, even though their TOS says they allow sexually explicit content. At some point, I need to migrate to a paid hosting service. We're all living at the whim of the free platform providers.
