I had a friend once, from the UK, who was looking for exactly that. She grew up without a father. Her participation in the scene was never erotic. Sometimes playful, but mostly discipline oriented. There were a few times when I had told her of my father from childhood, sometimes spanking related and sometimes not, and she would sigh and say, "You father sounds lovely." in a sad way, as if she had missed something by not having a father to guide her and sort her out as she grew.

I think there are many like that.

g.gingerhttp://www.zedginger.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4178998232488314107.post-70491578293459028822009-06-23T00:18:39.134-04:002009-06-23T00:18:39.134-04:00I have struggled with the father thing.

For some reason, I can only come up with negative thoughts when it comes to mine. I've only seen my father once and although we talk on the phone, he is nothing more than an aquaintance to me.

HUGS!
gracegracehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17341179673514109376noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4178998232488314107.post-13236156356220571802009-06-22T17:43:14.923-04:002009-06-22T17:43:14.923-04:00Thank you for trusting us with such an intimate in...Thank you for trusting us with such an intimate incite.Master Retephttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04311695282682721027noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4178998232488314107.post-3486166202978169082009-06-22T12:52:33.859-04:002009-06-22T12:52:33.859-04:00Thank you all for the touching and encouraging com...Thank you all for the touching and encouraging comments. I recall my dad starting nails amd me following him driving them in. My mother worked cooked baked and mixed concret for foundations. My dad died when I was 16 but it paved the way for me being devoted to my two boys. Hermione its good that you found some clousure in that search. Its good that we have one another to get a litttle misty eyed now and then.Fabsterranthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10719210462221356534noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4178998232488314107.post-20936602987344758162009-06-22T08:22:28.892-04:002009-06-22T08:22:28.892-04:00I don't think the traits we inherit from our f...I don't think the traits we inherit from our fathers can be defined as good or bad. It is really what we do with those traits, how we live our lives, which make them positive or negative. You've made them into something positive and that's what really matters.Ashley Jhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14242036743645170042noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4178998232488314107.post-46285513745785099692009-06-22T05:15:25.485-04:002009-06-22T05:15:25.485-04:00Lovely post Hermione.

Some of that is genetic and therefore like my father. Some of it is environment and therefore like my adoptive father. Some of it is the influence of countless people and experiences.

But mostly its my soul impressing itself on this ego, we call a personality. I am me. I am the person I've chosen to be.

That's who you are too. *smiles*Greenwomanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09595575183652183234noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4178998232488314107.post-30537728929710003082009-06-21T13:59:49.007-04:002009-06-21T13:59:49.007-04:00It's comforting to have that male dominance in...It's comforting to have that male dominance in our lives once in a while whether we had a bad father, a good father or no father.
