  3. Fail, really? I think it is a win. :)

And this reminds me of Age of Innocence when he takes her glove off in the carriage. It is just a glove, but...

  4. So much information being conveyed discreetly! I love the images they suggest! However, I wonder who knew the code,everyone...or just the ladies? It would be an epic fail if the gentleman didn't memorize the code!

  5. That would be too much to remember, definitely a fail.

  6. Too complicated, a fail for sure.

  7. There is no way a man could ever remember all those codes. We already have enough trouble remembering that yes means no, but maybe yes, and that no means yes, but maybe not.

  8. I'm torn between win or fail though I don't think I'd be able to remember all those codes and I'm sure the men wouldn't.

  9. Darn. I can't read it on the phone. But the headings did make me think about being spanked by someone wearing gloves, and with a (closed) parasol. Probably awkward, but intriguing.

  10. Is this for real?? Yeeeesh. People would have to study and take tests before their dates! :-)

  11. Mikki - Me too!

SNP - Far too much. No wonder there were so many spinsters.

Ana - Ah, a glove is far more...

Minelle - I wonder if they taught the boys these signals at public school.

Sunny - Far too much for me too.

    Joey - I agree.

Bas - Don't forget no means no.

Ronnie - I wonder if these rules were just a local thing.

Julia - You're voting with the majority.

Emen - Ah yes, I wondered who would find a spanking innuendo in there. Bravo!

Erica - They didn't have the interwebs back then, so they would have had plenty of time to learn these rules and play the game.

    Hugs,
    Hermione

  12. Hermione, in todays world, for a date, with a mate. It's one two, screw you. Then after intercourse, divorce.

  13. How complicated!! To think your future could be ruined by crushing your gloves in the wrong hand!!! xxx

  14. Six - That seems to be the way.

Daisy - It was a stressful time to be sure.

  15. It always amazes me how we used to act in those days, and how complicated love was back then. I love watching all the period dramas. One of the best is caled "North and South" about a family that move from the south of England up to the hard working North, and the dramas that go there. best on a rainy day while doing the ironing i find lol

  16. TA - I remember that program. I saw it a few years back. Very interesting.
