  1. All so, so true!!!

When I was starting out in life, and later during early parts of college, I worked as a cook, then an assistant chef, and finally as an industrial food blender (10 - 15,000 lb mixes => "monster cook").

Starting out as a cook at Denny's #532, I certainly thought some of my coworkers were "pyros" with "knife fetishes," and yes, ALL of them swore (at servers and customers) and most had tatoos!

Later, working as a "saute chef" at a well known "pasta house" in St. Louis, there were many times I head to a walk-in cooler to vent my frustrations at servers and customers. And yes, there were often huge trays of leftover lasagna the servers would gather-round after closing.

At the frozen food plant, once a new worker "accidentally" contaminated a 8,000 lb vat of egg-whites; almost a whole days product wasted; ~$40K wasted!

    Our food-plant was directly-connected to a giant (~6 acre) frozen-food warehouse (-15o C). I had to go over there after this catastrophe. . . .

Kind of like being on the moon or in deep space: NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM IN THE ARCTIC!
