How much force does the spanker use?

Bonnie: When Randy spanks me, he's all over the map in terms of force exerted. He'll lull me into complacency with a rhythmic tap tap tap, and then light me up with fierce syncopated paddle smacks randomly distributed across my bottom. The worst, though, is when he strikes hard and fast. I can't tolerate that level of immediate punishment pain that for long. Fortunately for me, he usually changes tactics after a while.

wolfman7446: I use a moderate force over a longer period of time. This ensures the lesson is being learned without running the risk of damaging her. If I did anything close to the force I am capable of, I can guarantee that injury would result. Since I love her, this would be the last thing I desire.

Marie: It can really vary. It shouldn't take much force, but I like being spanked hard (and firmly) so that requires a certain amount of effort be put into it. I don't really enjoy being spanked lightly so I don't seek that out - I find it irritating. My husband typically spanks me pretty hard but there's variation even within that and I will tease him a bit if it feels like he's slowing down - usually that's when we move to implements.

Jack: My wife/mommy applies the bath brush soundly, it lands hard and switches from cheek to cheek. Once I start to squirm and kick my legs she stops, secure my legs and the bath brush lands hard and fast. 

Anon: Full force? I can't imagine anyone ever using "full" force. Hard, yes. Very hard, also yes. Probably 80% or so of "full" force. But, then again, my wife is very athletic. Maybe small, weaker women would use closer to full force. Full force would be hard to control and maintain accuracy.

Roz: The intensity varies during the spanking, but I know Rick always has more in reserve 😊 

Rosco: I asked this question because Irene’s preferred implement recently changed, from a long leather strap to a small wooden paddle. A short pop with the paddle stings as much as a full swing with the strap, albeit the sensations are a different.

I thought she would miss taking that full swing, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

A.J.: Giving or receiving - Never "full force."

We only do fantasy and fun "play," so that would be out of bounds.

Prefectdt: That can vary a lot depending on 2 factors. 1/ Who is the spanker? 2/ What kind of mood am I in?

KDPierre: Rosa's default is upper moderate. Nothing is ever lighter than seriously solid and crisp. No wimpy whacks here! LOL Depending on the circumstances the force can go up from there, all the way to what feels like full force. However, I would say her force level is not as widely variable as quantity. So usually it's always good solid forceful swats and the situation then determines how many of those I'm going to get. But this is an averaged out kind of answer. Reality plays out with exceptions on different occasions.           

Hermione: Ron uses a moderate amount of force, which is what I require. For two of the ouchiest implements, I know he's not using any more than mild exertion, but it still feels like a lot more.

Recap: Spanko Brunch 2.0 for September 28

We discussed intense spanking sessions this week, and here's what you had to say.

Rosco: Irene is not much a planner, except to the extent that we’ll decide to have a “date” on a certain day- usually late afternoon. Whether she decides to go especially hard or long is mostly a whim. Usually a date includes 2-3 spankings, 30 minutes or so apart before more traditional intimacy ensues.

Usually I’ll go with the flow. If I want more, I’ll whine and beg her to stop (that’s code for more that we developed long ago; “enough” is our safe word,that’s never been used and “later” is our code word for later).

On a few occasions, I’ve written a letter - ostensibly from another woman or girl whom I’ve offended. Usually I was trying to peek up her skirt or maybe peeping into the female locker room. She’s written Irene who is some sort of authority figure, sometimes a teacher or librarian but usually undefined. The letter will suggest rather intense punishment and Irene will take the hint and give me what I want/need/deserve. 

Anon: Wow, Rosco, that last paragraph gives me all sorts of ideas...thanks!

Roz: Spankings for us now are purely for fun so are usually in the moment and not pre-planned. 

Prefectdt: I do not have a solo spanking partner, and so am not sure if this question is relevant to myself. I do, very often, arrange with a spanking partner a code for, "You can bring it on harder", during play. This usually takes the form of me thanking the spanker for being so lenient and considerate in dealing with me. This can often lead to a more intense session. So the answer to your question would be, yes, but only when I am feeling like it and the frequency of these sessions tends to be random.

Bonnie: We plan for spankings on Friday evenings. These are more involved, more choreographed, and generally more severe than what we do at other times of the week.

Randy likes to come up with something unique for holidays and special occasions. Today, as it happens, is one of those days. My confidential sources suggest he is going to paddle me.

Wendel: All of our spanking activity is meant for fun and pleasure. We do not get too rough. Not much planning is needed for a spanking. When it is time, it is time.

Our house in Ireland has a large shed in the back yard that we refer to as “The Woodshed”. It is mostly for storage, but we do have a bench in the middle just right for bending over. If one is sent to the woodshed, a rather severe whipping with the strap will be given. I guess it is a bit harder than most spankings. 

Graham: Fun spankings are just that and continue without much plot until we are ready to move on to other things. Disciplinary spankings are more involved, and she may have a definite plan. They almost always involve some intense most-orgasm caning, which clearly separates the fun from the serious!

KDPierre: Since we do both punishment and fun spankings, in the spirit of what I believe is the gist of this week's question, I would like to make a distinction between intense and elaborate. Some punishments can be very intense, but not necessarily elaborate and requiring lots of planning or time, but some fun ones can be.

Probably our most elaborate fun spanking sessions are our "pool tournaments". We have a pool table and every few months Rosa and I will play a best 2 out of 3 tournament of 8-ball. There are elaborate rules which I've written into a little poster that we put out so we can refer to it, all involving spanking penalties.

To make it fun, the rules are absurdly slanted in her favor, so in practical terms, no matter how well I play, by evening's end I am likely to have received literally hundreds of swats spread out over the course of the tournament, leaving my butt red and swollen and residually sore for days. 

Hermione: Our planned spanking is Saturday afternoon, but I can't say it's severe or intense. It's only for fun, and is a prelude to wink, wink, nudge, nudge, know what I mean?

Today I'm roasting sweet red peppers from our garden. For many years I was unable to let the green peppers mature and turn red because the slugs would snack on them before they were ripe. We haven't had slugs for several years now -- I don't know why they suddenly disappeared -- so I can let the peppers ripen. I freeze the roasted peppers for use during the year in various recipes.

Is the spanker talkative? Let's see...

Jack: My wife/mommy applies the bath brush at first with the reason I’m getting a spanking. It lands very hard and I at first try not to react. Then the spankingis very hard, fast and switching cheeks to  ensure sitting afterwards is very hard. When she is nearing the end, the spanks are really hard and one at a time, "Are you going to be a good little boy?" and I must respond "Yes Mommy", "are you going to do as told"? "Yes Mommy". "You will stand in the corner." "Yes Mommy". "No rubbing." "Yes Mommy".

Barrel: Generally she talks to me a little bit. Yesterday, during a long awaited session, she mentioned she was delivering "strokes in 10's" as opposed to the normal 6's. As I was secured to an overhead suspension bar in our garage, she lowered the bar enough and instructed me to "present my bottom" for her. When I started to breathe heavily, she told me to "breath deeply but slowly". She told me she hadn't achieved the color or texture she wanted just yet, so on she went. When she asked me if I "was done" and I responded that I was, she told me I "failed to let her use all her implements", including one of her favorites. So on came the tawse plus "extras" for forgetting her favorite.
If warranted, my wife will reprimand me for bad behavior during a session, while making her point with the cane. 

Wendel: Aside from the announcement that one of us is getting spanked there is not much talking. The paddle and belt do all the talking.

Norse Cavalier: If it's a punishment spanking, I scold her severely. The spanking alone isn't always enough to make her regret her actions, but the right words can have a nice effect.

If it's a fun spanking, I tease her for the cute little grunts and moans she's making - which makes her blush even more. Also, I ask her how she's doing, if she'd like it harder or softer, and whether there are any implements she'd prefer. Stuff like that.

Roz: Nowdays spanking is for fun. There is usually a bit of banter or he may tease a bit about my reaction to the spanking if there are a few ooh's and ouches. He may also ask the odd question which I am somehow supposed to be able to answer.

Rosco: Pretty much always a lecture. Spanking is told play for us. I’ve been caught peeking up girls’ skirts or doing something similar. Maybe I’ve been reported to the teacher or maybe the girls simply punish me themselves. Irene will sometimes play different roles, even changing her clothes over an hour or two. At any rate, the lecture is an important part - almost as important as the spanking itself.

Irene has counted a few times or instructed me to count. But it’s rare.

She doesn’t joke per se, but she laughs at me for being the silly naughty boy with the red bottom that she’s going to let all the other girls see - and maybe take a turn spanking as well. 

Bonnie: There is generally some banter as Randy spanks me. The content varies depending upon how he chooses to present the session and to a lesser extent how I respond.

I love a good corporal punishment scenario. This involves a lecture about my real or imagined transgressions and why a very long, very hard spanking is necessary and how sore my bottom will be when he's finished and how sorry I should be for being a such an unruly girl. Sometimes, I play along. Other times, I protest or pose impertinent questions. The result is pretty much the same either way.

In other cases, it's sexy talk. I like this too. He tells me how beautiful I am and how much he loves to give me what I need. I lap this up. Eventually we move on to what's next.

We laugh and joke a lot. When Randy takes his stern disciplinarian role over the top, I can't help cracking up even though I am hurting.

He occasionally counts out the swats and less frequently, requires me to do so. For reasons I do not understand, this seems to make it hurt more.

One aspect I don't like is having to answer questions. When I am across his lap and in the middle of getting spanked, my brain doesn't work very well. Wrong answers earn me extra hard whacks. So do responses like, "How the &*#@ should I know?" The Spanking edition of Trivial Pursuits is totally not fair.

That's the long way to say YES.

Prefectdt: As I have experienced multiple Spankers, I can say yes to all of the above, for this question. I like it when a Spanker has her own style and does it her way.

I think that one important type of Spanker style has been left off this list. Those that play with your mind. I remember once, when I was already well on my way to dancing with the fairies. The other person in the room started telling me that it was different days of the week. I ended up utterly confused, and once we were finished (this was the days before mobile phones) I had to buy a newspaper, just to find out what day of the week it was.       

S: Sometimes during a funishment spanking while she is OTK, I will make her ask me to spank her harder by having her say, "I am a naughty girl, please spank me harder!" To which I will respond, okay if that is what you want. 

FL: A good scolding is a crucial element of a thorough spanking.

A.J.: "...is the spanker talkative? " Sure. On either side of the lap.

"Is there a lecture? Quips or jokes? Counting?" No lectures. Quips about my tush becoming red and (usually) more to come? Yup!

"Or is there just an eerie silence?" In a spanking???? Does that ever happen?

I'm just a fun spanker/spankee, so there is a lot back and forth. 

Anon: The spankee is told beforehand what it is for, and often directed to count spanks along with stating with each one a line indicating what behavior must not be repeated. If she does not clearly speak as directed, a lengthy extra hair brushing follows.    

Hermione: Ron sometimes makes jokes, when the mood strikes him. He never lectures because our spankings are not for punishment. Sometimes he will tell me to adjust my position or stop making so much noise. Often, though, he remains silent.

Losing the Food Lottery

My plan for today is to whip up a big batch of borscht using the beets I grew in our garden this summer. I assume everything will go according to plan and we'll enjoy a nice bowl of soup for lunch tomorrow. But not everyone is so lucky. These people lost the food lottery.

Recap: Spanko Brunch 2.0 for September 14

Do you ever do cornertime?

Dan: We tried it a time or two, and it just doesn't work for me. I've been into meditation for a couple of decades, and as soon as I face the wall, I start going into a very blank space. If it's being used for punishment or to make me think about an imminent spanking, it fails for me.

CEM: Yes. Sometimes before, during "intermission", and obviously after. In addition to other aspects, I enjoy the view. :) 

Anon: I use it all the time. It's a good time for her to reflect, me to see where she needs more attention. 

Rosco: We do it once in a while, but Irene has never left me standing in the corner long.

But we do something else similar that works for us. After she spanks me, she ties me up and puts me down for a nap - usually blindfolded sometimes gagged. Oddly I do fall asleep with the hypnotic bliss of my hot bottom and her sharp scolding. Go figure. It’s been our usual pattern for 10 or so years now and works really nicely.

Irene will come back in 30 minutes or a hour, and wake me if necessary. Usually more discipline will ensue followed by more traditional sexual activities.

Norse Cavalier: When I give a punishment spanking, I always put the young lady in the corner afterwards - usually only for five minutes, though I never tell her that in advance, so she has no idea how long I've set the timer for. I use corner time because it helps her think about what she's done, and she also looks adorable standing there with a red bottom.

I also often use them for fun spankings, depending on what the spankee wants.

Roz: We have used corner time on occasion in the past. Sometimes on its own and other times combined with a spanking, usually before the spanking.

Luvinhub: When we were in a WLM, a few times she made me stand in the corner. I would say it was somewhat effective on my side of things. I don't know if she enjoyed it or if it accomplished what she wanted.

Prefectdt: Not a big fan of corner time myself, I try to avoid it unless it is in the motivational psyche of the other participant in the spanking. It is not too bad when combined with a pacing spanker, doing some strong berating. But being left alone and feeling abandoned spoils things, in my opinion.

Barrel: Never used corner time. I doubt it would work for us. After a session, we usually talk about what worked, what each other really liked and how to ensure we repeat it in the next session.
We have taken a break in the middle of an extended thrashing. Usually for me to catch my breath and her to take a sip of wine while she assesses my condition and color. Then she restarts.

A.J.: No. Absolutely no interest in it. On the receiving end I have never been in a corner; on the giving side never had someone in a corner.

I do have a spanking pen-pal whom I once asked to describe her favorite fantasy spanking - a reenactment of the spanking her angry mother gave her when she was 17: OTK, bare-bottom, HARD, with a hairbrush, followed by corner time with her bright red bottom on display.

ME: Really? You really want that?

Her (thinking..): I don't know. It really hurt. Maybe I should just leave it as a fantasy...?

Yeah; maybe that's a better idea.

I did offer her the services of a woman I knew would would give her what she wanted, with the caveat that you can stop it at any time if it gets to be too much!

She laughed and said no. Keep it a fantasy. (Chicken!)

Hermione: It's not for us either. I have no interest in being stuck in a corner before, during or after a spanking. Even the descriptions in stories turn me off.

I'm a big fan of the Spanking Library, and something I have noticed in many stories, besides the inevitable spanking of course, is the inclusion of corner time. Sometimes it happens before a spanking, more often after, and even in between rounds of over the knee. 

Do your spankings ever include a period of corner time? If so, is this a regular occurrence? If not, is it something you would be interested in trying?

There are  a few I've never heard of. But what is odd is, there is no state in which spanking is the most popular fetish. I wonder why. Maybe that explains a lot about that country. Just saying.

Do your spankings have a 'grand finale'?

Bonnie: Sometimes. Maybe. I never know until it happens. If there is a pattern, I have yet to discern it. If he has a plan, he doesn't share it in advance.

Randy says he likes to surprise me. My expression of surprise in this case is to loudly exclaim, "Ow!".

Wendel: We only use one implement during a spanking so there is no big finale.

Donn: Yes, for punishment thrashings with one of her rubber straps, my wife does have such a technique that she sometimes uses, but it can only be used if I am standing (bent over a chair for support), kneeling beside and bent over the edge of the bed, or I'm mounted on a spanking horse.

At the very end, when much of my butt has become much less sensitive (sometimes actually numb) due to the repeated strokes (from left of right sides), my wife will take up position directly behind me.

From that position, she can swing the strap "back and forth" in front of her, quite fast if she chooses, repeatedly striking the outer right-side of my right butt cheek on her "fore-swing," then the left-side of my left butt-cheek on her "back-swing." Striking areas that have NOT been desensitized from previous repeated strokes applied from either side. (Yes, she does sometimes gets a little too close and strikes the "fore-hip" along with the side of the butt-cheek.)

Yes, it makes a very intense a "grand finale" for a punishment thrashing. It's very hard to maintain control and position when she dials up the speed of strokes and shortens the cycles/intervals. I prefer to be restrained if I know in advance she plans to use this technique.   

Mija: For a punishment, generally the end is a tawse or hairbrush. But those could be the start too. Other times a hand spanking ending can be pretty sweet. 

Roz: There is no finale, specific implement or signal as such. Sometimes the strokes may be in quicker and more forceful leading up to the end.

It was many years ago and I was with one of my fav spankers. (To repeat what I have said before - I'm a fun spanker/spankee. All the spankings I have participated in have been oriented toward a sexual, (ahem) "finale.")

But this day, at the close of my session with my fav spanker, I admitted to her that I had never been REALLY spanked - in the sense of a real spanking someone in authority (like ones often mentioned in literature) would dish out.

I told her that. Then asked..."Would you mind...?

Her: "No." (What? No?)
Told me she was a pro and knew I was done.

Me: Just a taste. To know. How about 100? Your hand, hard and fast.

And then I coined one of my favorite terms, "Like, pretend you are my angry girlfriend." (Thus, the origin of the term for the "angry girlfriend" spanking. On the flip side it's the "angry boyfriend."

Ahhh! Being a girl she knew what an "angry girlfriend" was!

Her: "OK. But how about only 50, at first?"

Deal!

I got 50. Took all of 17-seconds. And I was ALIVE and kicking (literally) for all 50 of them!!! Whew!

We talked, and after a while I said, let's go for it. Give me the final 50.

She did. Another 17-seconds and it was over. I was truly spanked. I found out what a real spanking was. I wound up furiously rubbing my tush in front of my spank-pal who was now - GRINNING EAR-TO-EAR! ('Told 'ja!' she didn't need to say.)

From then on, whenever I felt at the conclusion of some otk time, that I needed a bit more, I'd ask (Key word!) for the grande finale. And 50 the standard.

On the flip side when she is otk, she HAS TO ASK ME for her grande finale. if she wants it. No assumptions.

NB: The nice part? Unlike previous sessions, I could still feel the tingling in my tush when I went to bed late that night (By morning it was gone.) But most of all, I remembered my spanking friend! SHE made it a memorable time. I often think of her to this day.    

Rosco: If Irene is using her (our) round-handled two-tailed strap, generally yes. I’ll have a sense she’s making the effort to take a full swing for 6 or 7 swats.

Most recently, however, she’s been favoring a wooden paddle - ever since I wrapped in in cloth tape (she has trouble gripping with her hands but is generally pretty athletic and strong). Taking a full swing with the paddle would be a bit much for either of who revel in intensity but not severity. So it’s harder to have a grand finale with that paddle.

I tend to think of the grand finale as what comes after - first her then me.

Hermione: To let me know the end has arrived, Ron spritzes my tush with water from a spray bottle he keeps handy.  

Loki_Darksong: One of the things I do at events was what I call an intro session. It is my sampler dish that is a brief taste of the basic spanking food groups. A hand spanking followed by a paddling followed by a strapping and for its finale and caning.

None of it heavy but just enough to perk an interest for future exploration from the person I am spanking. 

S: My spankings are funishment spankings, but as a finale I usually concentrate some heavy spanks to her sit spots and ask her if she is going to be a good girl. Sometimes I might also give her a couple of pinches. I also like to give her a couple of light spanks and say it is all over.

Recap: Spanko Brunch 2.0 for August 31

How many toys are usually employed in a session?

Rosco: We have four primary implements these days, all of which I’ve purchased for Irene to use on me as she sees fit. All have round handles which she prefers due to her smallish hands and touch of arthritis. In order of severity:

A leather covered ping pong paddle
A somewhat floppy small paddle of unknown material
A long two tailed leather strap on a wooden handle
A small wooden paddle, like a hairbrush but without any bristles.

The last one hurts like crazy if I’m not warmed up. I try to moan and whine softly but get loud when things really hurt.

In late spring I look for shoots of wild plum trees. They deliver a delicious sting. 

Wendel: Spankings here are one implement only. There may be a few smacks on the bottom by the hand before a paddling or whipping but that is it. 

If I had to pick a favorite, it would be the belt. The sting and pain from each whack feel just right.
The Misses is quite fond of a good old-fashioned hand spanking and does favor the paddle. 

Bonnie: For my routine spankings (lift my skirt and bend me over), Randy usually uses one implement. His favorite at the moment is a teardrop shaped hardwood paddle. My favorite (as if that matters) is a smaller leather paddle. When he wants to make a point, he chooses a solid wooden dogleg hairbrush or even the very ouchy wooden bath brush.

When spankings get more involved, he tends to pull out implements like the punishment cane or one of the bigger paddles in addition to those previously mentioned. Other times he surprises me. But the outcome is generally more or less the same. 

S: When I spank someone, I like to use a lot of different implements. I usually include a paddle that I made from a 3/4 inch thick industrial rubber. It is about 12 inches long and 6 inches wide. It is very heavy and produces a very satisfying smack. It is very fun to use.

Spanky53: Hmmm, for me and my partners we usually go through my whole bag of toys which means anywhere between 18 to 23 depends on what I've prepared. The one item that always gets used is my very supple belt with a turquoise buckle, and the finish is always my hand. The most asked for item is a toy I call the stinger.

Roz: If not with the hand it's usually a maximum of 2 implements, our leather paddle and either wooden spoon or paint stirrer. 

Prefectdt: Between 6 to 10 toys are usually in play, when I am taking some. That sounds like a lot, and it include pervertibles most of the time, not all specific spanking toys. One toy that is always used is a belt. Because I always turn up for a spanking wearing one, usually my nice, stiff, handmade belt that I got from a leatherworker in the Ardennes in 2020. If one is available, I like to be caned hard, with a rattan cane, to finish off the play. This will hopefully leave some welts to sit on that will help me remember the joys of being spanked for days afterwards.

Ronnie: Normally two. Hand, Leatherthorn paddle (my favourite), small holey wooden paddle (his favourite), Headmaster-style cane, long twisted wooden loopy or small straight wooden cane for OTK. Depends on the spanking as to which ones are used.  

A.J.: How many toys are typically used in your spankings?

My hand a toy? Overwhelmingly, that's the only "tool" I use. (Yes; I'm boring.)

Is there one that is most often used during the finale, and if so, why?

Barrel: If the spanking is a prelude to intimacy, I usually get just the wooden hairbrush. Damn thing has grooves on the business end opposite the bristles and when applied with vigor, leaves blood blisters below the skin. She likes that as they remain for 3 to 4 days. Occasionally, she will substitute a heavy plastic paddle, which is nasty.

During a session, she will employ 4 or 5 toys that include the leather strap I fashioned from an old luggage strap (probably her favorite based on how she swings it), two-tailed tawse (which she is trying to perfect landing on my inner creases), single tail whip (spread around) and always the two delrin canes. The thick cane is "thuddy" and imparts a deep, lasting ouch. The thin cane is evil and leaves marks, which I wear as badges of honor for a week.   

Anon: Several but not always the same. Usually a small round wooden paddle with a hole in the middle, at least one small leather strap, a couple of lexan paddles also with holes, a full-butt light wooden paddle with lots of beveled holes and most often ending with the cane. Ouch! 

FL: Ideally, hand, hairbrush, belt. In that order.

Dan: In the old days, there was a lot of variability. She might work in as many as five or six implements, including various paddles, straps and brushes. These days, it's usually one or two. The ebony hairbrush often makes an appearance, though it is almost never the main event. Her go-to instrument, which almost always is the star of the show, is the bath brush.   

Hermione: We always have four in use, and Ron chooses three. The leather dogging bat (my favourite) is a must. Then either a black leather hand-shaped slapper or a longer black leather strap. Next a wooden shoehorn or a leather 'flyswatter' with metal studs. My choice is either the Leatherthorn paddle or a ping pong paddle which sadly broke this weekend.

Window Shopping

If you were strolling along the sidewalk in a shopping district and saw these panties in a store window, what would your reaction be? A smile at least, or maybe you might step inside to check out the other wares for sale. If you are a resident or a tourist in Virginia Beach, this sight may no longer be available.

The Virginia Beach council voted last week to prohibit display of "vulgar" or "indecent" clothing in the shop windows along the popular Atlantic Avenue boardwalk. The reason is that the lewd messages are spoiling the area's "wholesome" image and may keep people away from the hotels, restaurants and bars in the area. I don't know about you, but I would be more likely to visit the boardwalk if the shop windows were this entertaining. Read the full story, including pictures, here.

Recap: Spanko Brunch 2.0 for August 24

What characteristics do you look for in a spanker or spankee?

Barrel: I don't have to look for a spanker, I am married to one, thank goodness.

Traits I admire in her are resolve and commitment. When we plan a session, I tend to get cold feet as the time approaches. She takes me through the apprehension with sensitivity, but focused on delivering the thrashing we have planned. She ensures our restraints are secure and I am comfortable before she begins. As our sessions are intense, she is resolved to deliver either the quantity of strokes or obtain the desired color and markings with passion. Often she senses I have had enough, but she will continue to her satisfaction.
It has taken us 30 years to get to the point where she likes the actual act of spanking the most. I feel blessed to be where we are.

Roz: As a spankee the traits I like a spanker who is confident, has a plan for the spanking (knows what they want out of the spanking for both of us), and who is good at reading the spankee and is able to adjust based on the spankee's reaction.

Rosco: For me, watching a spanking video without a lecture is usually boring. And a lecture adds to the fun of getting a spanking. It doesn’t have to be super serious and can even be lighthearted but it’s part of the experience for me.

There’s a wide variety of intensities that can be compelling but some videos are too little and some definitely too much. I do have a double standard in that seeing a man delivering a hard spanking is far more likely to be a turn off than if a woman is doing it.

Irene has four implements she favors, and often switches between them when she thrashes me. There’s a pause and I don’t know exactly when the next one is coming or what “flavor” it will have. I try to hold still and whine softly with appreciation, but I’ll kick my legs and make more noise when it’s truly hard.

Prefectdt: What characteristics do I look for in a spanker? Firstly she must be honest and aware of her level of knowledge, where administering corporal punishment is concerned. I like a spanker who is an individual and has or is developing her own style in both physical administration and managing a spanking scenario. Lastly, it is the cherry on the cake, if she is genuinely enjoying punishing my old rear end and other body parts.

How would I describe my ideal spanker? Confident, skilled, harsh, fun and having her own way of doing things. Whilst respecting my hard limits and limits, of course.

Jack: My wife/mommy as far as I’m concerned is the ideal spanker. She can be my wonderful wife, but when I’m naughty that look is a Mommy look and that is not good.

Wendel: My answers for this one are regarding videos or pictures. In the real world the Misses is the perfect spanker and looks extremely sexy taking a spanking.
For a spanker: I always envision the spanker to be an older woman maybe fifty plus with a stern look in her face. I am not big into lectures. Less talking more spanking.
For a spankee: The woman needs to bare her bottom and take the spanking. That is it. She does not need to be naked. I just like watching the bare bottom being spanked. 

Bonnie: I wrote an article on this very subject almost ten years ago. My tastes haven't changed much.

FL: Someone who has a strict demeanour, able to deliver a good scolding, is resolute in the face of my pleading, and is just a bit intimidating. Not loud or shrill, but absolutely in control. Physically I have a preference for mature women, with solid figures and laps that accommodate a man. Not fat but not skinny either.

KDPierre: For me it's definitely a sincere belief in their role and in the efficacy of spanking. A spanker who is not play-acting but truly sees their role as logical, sensible, natural, and deserved will usually then have confidence, determination, and all the other aspects of a loving disciplinarian. If you have a person like this in a consensual relationship with someone who sees themselves as in need of such an influence in their life, the resulting punishments will be powerful even if not necessarily severe.

For me personally, I feel very appreciative afterwards if a spanker can have me feeling genuine remorse and even a desperation to make amends and please. I have pride and a spanker that can effectively challenge that pride and coax a good bit of sincere humility out of me through a combination of scolding and application of paddle will earn my admiration and respect.

Hermione: I like a man who surprises me with a spanking when I least expect it. I also like variety: different rooms, different positions, different implements. I like a spanker who teases and jokes about the proceedings, although sometimes sternness is very appealing. Ron pretty much ticks all the boxes on this list.

This week we went on a road trip to a cheese factory in the country, where we purchased bags of squeaky curd and some blocks of aged cheddar. At one time the shop also sold cheeses made elsewhere, like Danish blue and Wisconsin flavoured cheeses, but that was in the before times. Now they only sell their own cheese, plus some baked goods, jams and butter made locally.

Our topic for today came to me as I was watching a not-so-good spanking video. I thought Ron could do a much better job than the person wielding the hairbrush, and I was sure I could have wiggled and protested much more convincingly than the subject of the implement's attention.

Depending on your point of view, what characteristics do you look for in a spanker or a spankee? How would you describe your ideal spanker or spankee?

Recap: Spanko Brunch 2.0 for August 17

We discussed the overpowering urge to be spanked, and here is what you said:

Wendel: We were at a ComicCon last week checking out the art as well as the costumes. I especially enjoy the ladies' costumes. If the Misses caught me staring, she would smile, smack me in the shoulder and say how that one needs to be spanked. On the ride home I thought about her spanking comments and figure she really meant that I needed it. Once we got to the house, I told her I was sorry for staring and that if anyone needed a spanking it was me. I took the paddle from the pantry closet and gave it to her. The Misses told me to drop my pants and proceeded to paddle my butt until I could not sit. It was wonderful. 

Roz: I'm not sure I get to that point. If a spanking doesn't eventuate, then it doesn't. Having said that, if I'm feeling the need I often use physical signals, a bit of cheeky banter etc. I have also just simply lent over Rick's knee if we have been cozy together on the couch.

Rosco: I get spanked roughly twice a week, one of which is simply discipline and one of which is the prelude to sexual activity. If I’m itching for a spanking, all I have to do is complain or whine about something trivial, and Irene will tend to threaten me with a spanking. I’ll tell her I don’t need a spanking, which is our code for asking for one. (Our code for not spanking now is “later”. Later means later.)

These days I’ve learned to savor a spanking at bedtime or before a nap. Irene and I are pretty much in sync.

Prefectdt: How long does it take for the urge to be spanked to grow to where it is ever-present and powerful?As soon as I have physically recovered from my last spanking :) . I do not have a long term partner, so it is impossible for my feelings to be shared intimately.

Dan: The clarifying question for me would be "How long after what?" The most recent spanking? For me, that's not really relevant. I don't feel a need to be spanked simply because some time has passed since my last one. For me, it's really about whether there has been some bad behavior that I feel a need to be held accountable for. For me, it's only after something like that has happened that I feel a compelling need for a spanking. Once that's occurred, there's a fairly narrow window--three to four days, maybe a week for serious misconduct--in which that need is pretty strong. Longer than that, and the perceived need for consequences starts to taper off.

Barrel: My urge starts in about 7 to 10 days. It builds to quite a bit around two weeks, thus my email to Hermione as a prompt for this week's topic.

This time, I didn't need to say anything to my wife, my behavior did. With family staying with us, there was nothing we could do. But after they left, I got the hairbrush along with a lecture. So while I feel better, she left the hairbrush on the living room table, either as a reminder to shape up OR for easy and quick access for the next one.

A.J.: How long does it take for the urge to be spanked to grow to where it is ever-present and powerful?

No definite time. Usually, it comes with stress. Just the everyday "stuff" of life that builds and builds until you "need" something to cleanse the mind. And sometimes that 'thing' is some time spent OTK.

I remember a bad case of it a few years ago and thought that was a solution (It's not. But what the heck.) My mind said I really need one. Time and place said it's not going to happen. A month later the world was back in place.

Sad.

Hermione: At one time I used to feel the urge at least twice a week. I'd get annoyed that Ron seemed not to notice my signals. But then he would, and took matters into his own hands expertly. Nowadays, due to age and hormones or lack thereof, I don't usually have a desperate need to be spanked. If it happens, it happens, and if not, there's always tomorrow. The timing is up to Ron.
