As winter approaches, we use our spanking bench less frequently. It's located in the basement and it's cold down there.
Outdoor spanking is always affected by the weather. Getting paddled in the pouring rain is fun and the sting of the paddle on a wet bottom is incredible. As for the cold, the whack of a paddle or belt hurts like hell and the marks come quickly and last a lot longer.
When we spank inside the temperature outside does not really matter thanks to air conditioning and heaters.

I always get more paranoid about being heard during the summer with neighbours being outside more and having doors and windows open.

Well, we turned the furnace on before our “date” yesterday.
It’s been awhile since our last endeavor outside. Occasionally we would find a switch walking in the woods, but we were always pretty careful to make sure no one was around. We did once have a memorable time on a raft at the bottom of the Grand Canyon after letting the rest of our group float well downstream.
Often, when playing with a fellow amateur enthusiast, neither of us can play at our own residencies. Which means that we have to find a noise friendly place to rent. This is hard to do, outside of the tourist season. So winter usually means pay to play encounters only.

Yes, as it gets cooler, sessions in the unheated garage, while immobilized on the suspension rack require slight adjustments. I am cold while being secured but warm up quickly as the thrashing begins. My wife may not dress for the occasion and remain fully dressed to stay warm. We do have restraint capabilities in-doors, so we find ways to have our sessions.
In general, I prefer summer over other seasons. I like wearing few clothes, if any, around the house. After we first got married, my husband decided that I shouldn't wear a thong bikini in public any longer. My bottom was not to be tanned by the sun, only by him. I preferred to be spanked in the summer, too. But a couple years ago we took several drives to see the fall colors change in the trees. We went north to Michigan at its peak transition; white birches with canopies vivid reds, oranges, and yellows. I coaxed hubby to get out of the car and spank my bared bum over the bumper; white buttocks turning vivid red. Of course, we had to make love right there right afterward. So turned on, so afraid of being discovered! Needless to say, now autumn is my favorite time of year. We have another car trip north planned soon.
I've always regarded spanking as an "indoor sport" and with central heat and air, the seasons matter little.
