A Fun Whipping

It's a day late, I know, but here's the description of a yearly ritual that takes place on Easter Monday, from the late and much missed Alex Birch's blog, Sunday, April 3, 2005.

"I have just returned from Prague where I spent a delightful Easter break. It's a wonderful old city full of mediaeval baroque architecture and a few tasty customs ...which include gently whipping young ladies on Easter Monday morning. The 'weapon' used is called a pomlazka and its a series of braided willow twigs very carefully and artistically bound together. The design is such, I am reliably told, that the downswing of the pomlazka will not strike the person too hard, just enough to leave a nice pleasant sting.

"Sadly this takes place publicly only in the Czech villages now. There have been complaints, mainly by women tourists I'm told, about over exuberance in Prague itself and I believe that public whippings are now frowned upon. There were many pomlazkas being sold at the Easter fair in Prague old town square but all discreetly wrapped up and taken home I'm sorry to say!!

Recap: Spanko Brunch 2.0 for April 20

Happy Easter! Tell us about the spanking you would most like to repeat.

Wendel: A while back I spanked the Misses at the top of a large hill in Ireland late one night. There was a rock in a clearing overlooking the valley below. I sat down and instructed the Misses to drop her pants and bend across my lap. The peace of the hilltop was disrupted by her cries as I spanked her bottom. We never knew if anyone saw or watched from below which made it one of the most memorable. When we got home the Misses gave me a whipping in back of our tool shed that was also quite memorable.  

FL: My wife came home very late from work one night, woke me up, told me to fetch the hairbrush and meet her downstairs NOW! I have delivered only one successful spanking. At a tender age shortly after Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, on a dark beach at night I delivered a series of spankings to Martha leading to my first trips to first, second and third base. I’d love to relive that.

Prefectdt: We have to go back to the early 2000s for that. Several times, I visited a professional German Mistress in Antwerp. Roz: My answer seems dull to the others above. Spankings for us have occurred over the years for many different reasons, discipline, punishment, role affirmation and intimate spankings. There have been a few outdoors on the odd occasion.

I would love to repeat any of the intimate spankings. One in particular featured different positions and being spanked lightly all over with the paddle. It was delicious and set every nerve on fire. We also had a flogger at one point and when used lightly would produce the same result.

KDPierre: A great question, but a tough one to answer. I don't think the mechanics of a spanking, no matter how wonderful, ever can compete with the psychological aspects. And as wonderful as my spankings from Rosa have been (and continue to be), a truly memorable spanking that is engraved in my mind, is one from a friend. Rather than relate all of the details, I will say that what made this spanking memorable was that it was the first time this friend and up until that time, 'equal', fully embraced her authority and spanked me very hard with sharp rebukes and sincere scolding. What stands out in my mind beyond the sheer pain of it, was the state of desperate obedience she drove me to. She literally had me scrambling to answer every question and obey every command in a sincerely driven attempt to appease her and not upset her further. Rosa has achieved this with me as well, but somehow it makes more sense that she would as my wife and partner. It was VERY intense to get that same level of intensity from a non-romantic 'friend' who I would otherwise interact with in a more typical day-to-day sort of way. (It's amazing what a determined authority figure can achieve armed with a paddle and a sense of righteous indignation!)

What do you think about spanking parts of the body other  than the buttocks?

Dan: It's never really happened, but I don't think it would do much for me.

MrBill: Most of my spanks are received on my bottom but I get them everywhere, thighs, belly, chest, nipples, back, penis, balls. Even been slapped in the face and found it to be a thrill. Spanked by hand, flogger, crop, cane, paddle, whip.

Wendel: Spankings are always on the butt. Not interested in any other location. 

Betsy: I've only been spanked on my bottom. I don't think I would like it anywhere else.

Roz: Usually restricted to the bottom, but have on the odd occasion been spanked elsewhere, including the breasts. I much prefer to stick to the bottom. The one exception is when we had a flogger (which was more of a toy and broke) which when used lightly on my back and thighs felt good. Not so much of course when used with more force lol.

Prefectdt: From my early experiences of playing, the UK tradition of hand punishments were in the mix, from a tawse, cane or ruler. Later I learned the joys of punishments around the upper back and shoulders. Caning, belting and strapping are good around there, but the best for your back is a flogger or short tail. If I really need to be punished, in a way that I will genuinely not enjoy and won't want to be happening, then I will be seated upright. A well swung cane biting into the front of my thighs. Both the physical pain from that and the mental effect of seeing the cane come down in front of you and the perceived threat to my genitalia all add up to something that will make me behave better in the future.

Graham: Almost exclusively on my bottom. I go to the gym most days, and my bottom heals quickly or can be hid if necessary. That said, I've occasionally experienced a light whip on my upper back and chest, which was a marvelous sensation. A fairly gentle, but firm, crop on the underside of the penis can also be exciting. TTWD allows lots of room to experiment

I'm with Wendel on this one. Bum only. Ron and I both agree that anywhere else would be interpreted as abusive.

According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of spank is "to strike especially on the buttocks with the open hand". (An interesting bit of trivia: the word was first used in 1712. I wonder where.) But sometimes spanking happens on other parts of the body.

What implement would you grab if you had to leave your home in a hurry?

Luvinhub: My wife! haha

CEM: Hairbrush. Compact, dual purpose, gets the job done. :) 

Norse Cavalier: My trusty clothes brush. Easy to slip into a pocket, but very effective on a naughty young lady's bottom.

Roz: Just to let you know I have problems with your blog disappearing then reappearing on my blog roll too.

Now to the question. We don't have many implements so either wooden spoon or leather paddle would be my pick if it is possible to take one of them.  

Jack: My wife/mommy would be grabbing her purse and the hairbrush that she uses to spank me away from home is in the purse.

FL: Hairbrush for sure.

Rosco: We haven’t used a hairbrush in decades and stick with leather straps, crops, whips and a ping pong paddle - except when we find worthy switches in while hiking.

If we needed to be discreet, maybe a belt. If not, the two-tailed round-handled strap that makes a delicious wallop when Irene smacks me with it.

KDPierre: The one we use most often: our homemade lucite paddle.

Barrel: The home made leather strap I made. I think it is her favorite.

Prefectdt: I think my large rubber flogger. Just about everything else can be replaced. But that flogger was handmade by someone that retired some time ago and was purchased in a shop that is no longer there. It is the only toy in the box that I could not get again.     

Wendel: If it is up to me then the belt would make the trip. The Misses says she would bring the wooden hairbrush. 

Curley: Those damn Flip-Flops.

Hermione: Prefectdt's comment made me rethink my original choice. I would take the black leather strap that I bought at a shop that I'll probably never have a chance to visit again.
