We did try paddling just one cheek. It was not satisfying giving or receiving so it has not happened since.

I've wanted to try that with a young lady - deliberately spank only one of her cheeks, then go out to eat. She can squirm in her chair at the restaurant, trying to get comfortable. Once we're done, we go back home so that the other cheek can get some attention.
I've noticed that I tend to spank the right cheek more than the left. The best way to avoid it is to give some extra attention to the left cheek, to even it out, and to rely on feedback from the naughty young lady. If one of her cheeks hurts more than the other, she's not shy in telling me.
I don't like when a spanking is more one sided but it has happened on ocassions.

I hate being “Lop” spanked. Just watching a video of it happening to someone else is annoying. Where this seems to happen the most in an OTK situation, where the further buttock is easier to reach than the nearer buttock. It is often something that inexperienced spankers need to be warned about. Spankers, please learn to take a physical hint. When the Spankee is lifting one buttock higher than the other, that means that the buttock being lifted high needs more attention.

I think this happened more often initially. With paddles, straps and even riding crops it’s pretty to provide an egalitarian spanking. A bit harder with whips, unless the dominant partner is truly ambidextrous.
It’s been awhile, but when we’ve used switches I get wonderful welts, albeit only on the right buttock.
Neither of us like lopsided color and marks. That's why she carefully inspects the results before we stop spankings and sessions. Before our recent sessions to prevent strokes landing in unintended areas, we mark the limits on my bottom with a pen. Then she is free to land any of the implements within the target, and usually balances the color, texture and markings evenly.

I have NEVER spanked one of my lovely spanking GFs like that! It is always left-right-left-right. (Or the reverse.)
On the receiving end, though, it did happen. My first spanking GF, after a month or two of my spanking her so deliciously, out of the blue announced "Your turn!" And I had to go OTK for my first ever otk spanking.
And guess what she did? Yup.

My wife/mommy will address one cheek in the beginning then will address the other cheek. Then it will be switching, the bath brush really stings and hurt. My wife/mommy scolds me and will ask me if I will be a good little boy landing the bath brush hard on one cheek and I must reply Yes Mommy. When she finally stands me up, both cheeks have been equal addressed and to the wall I go, no rubbing, no talking, and since she addressed both, sitting is very difficult. Jack
