We discussed the first encounter with an implement.
Jack: My wife/mommy when we were dating used her hand until her mother showed up when I was being spanked. She knew her daughter had spanked me and it was a week before the wedding. I was over her lap, thankful to still have my underpants on. My future mother-in-law did not even sit down, she reached in her purse and it was a large hairbrush which she handed to her daughter and then she told her daughter spankings are on the bare bottom and she removed my underpants. That hairbrush hurt like hell and it was landed hard and fast. I danced around not caring all was on display until told to face the wall. A wedding gift from my mother-in-law was a bath brush, that long handle really warms my bare bottom today.
Rosco: I’m not
certain, but I remember early on going to the Western store and buying a
riding crop. There were no kink friendly shops in the early 80s.
I
was trying to casually peruse the basket of crops thinking about what I
might say if asked why I was purchasing it, when a buxom salesgirl
approached. She told me the longer leather model was not necessary and
the the small nylon crop hurt plenty. Then for a brief moment she lifted
it as if to swat me before laughing it off.
It wasn’t a missed
opportunity/fantasy as her serious looking boss was not far away, but
it’s still something I think about now and then.
I bought both crops.
Norse Cavalier: The first
item I ever used on a spankee was a paddle or strap or something at a
BDSM event. I don't remember what it was and I didn't own it, so I have
no idea where it is.
The first implement of my own was a clothes
brush, purchased especially for this use. I still own it and use it as
often as I can - though only for punishment spankings, since it's too
severe for fun play.
Prefectdt: The first implement used on me during an adult spanking, which happened during my first spanking as an adult, was a tawse. This was a bit of a tradition in my hometown in the UK, as the schools in that town used the tawse rather than the cane, for corporal punishment. Even though I come from England rather than Scotland. It was not purchased especially for that incident. The owner had had that particular tawse, as well as a few others, for several years.
Barrel: Like Rosco, ours was a 16" riding crop. I think they called it a bat, purchased from a western store. It has since given way to items with more impact.
A.J.: "The first implement, other than a hand, that you used...?"
My
hand hurt (her tush was like leather!) so I had her get off my lap and
find something in her apt. for me to use on her. Her panties were
still at half-mast and I told her to leave them there. The sight of her
duck-waking away from me - what a memory! She came back with a small
leather strap thing. Never used it again - unless my hand hurt.

I
was being a wise-ass (and stupid) in a rural antiques store and found
an ancient small paddle once used to put bread into fireplace ovens.
Loud and proud, I told her I could use this on her to protect my hand.
Not amused. Bought the paddle; and as soon as we got home...!!!
S: The first spanking implement I made was a wooden paddle made from some thin tightly grained light wood. It was very stingy and I remember it broke when I was paddling a particularly naughty woman.
Roz: Our first spanking implement was a heavy wooden spoon purchased with spanking in mind. This was then followed by a leather paddle.
KDPierre: A yellow plastic bath brush that eventually broke at the neck, but which I saved as a nostalgic token/souvenir of my first step into what became a very long lifestyle. And while a common, seemingly vanilla item, it was bought for that purpose.
FL: A hairbrush, still my favourite. Can't beat the classics!

Donn: When the
Wife and I were just getting started, she wanted a paddle to practice
with. I fabricated a paddle out of 1/2" thick black nylon plank, about
16" long by 3" wide at the business end.
Yes, it was very
effective, especially with an thin extended handle that gave her a lot
of leverage. (Kind of like a nylon-shaped bath brush, without the
bristles.
In the end, it cause her chronic wrist-injury too much
discomfort. (The paddle was transferred to the scrap-plastic bin in my
workshop, and eventually cut into smaller pieces for other miscellaneous
projects.)
Hermione: We were doing some redecorating, and when we bought the paint we were
given a free paint stirrer. The more I used it during our painting
sessions, the more I wanted to feel it on my bottom. So the next time we
went paint shopping, I put the new stirrer aside. When the time was
right, I told Ron of my desire, and he happily complied. He eventually
painted it gold and called it the "Golden Paddle". We still have it,
although it's pretty tame in comparison to most of our current
implements.
