The latest smartphones have an autocorrect feature that sometimes get their users in trouble.
This startle appeared in our national newspaper as part of an advertisement for a new program on CBC Radio 1. The subject of an episode to be broadcast the following day was funny autocorrect mistakes. I'm not sure how they could pull that off on radio, because it's so visually oriented, but radio presenters are pretty clever at making us "see" with our ears.
If you want to read more autocorrect fails, this site is one of the best.

Oh, our modern world. Autocorrect has misdirected me several times. I also don't worry about spelling anymore because I figure it's going to be fixed automatically. Not always the case.
Considering they are called smartphones the auto-correct isn't so smart. I've had to turn mine after forwarding a few sillies.

Hahaha! How funny. One reason I DON'T have one of them newfangled contraptions!
Sunnygirl - No, you shouldn't trust these gadgets.
Ronnie - I hope the autocorrects weren't too awful.
Bobbie Jo - I don't have on either!

ROFL! Love it.
A friend recently tried to text "Thank you, Erica" to me. Stupid autocorrect changed it to "Thank you, Pericardium." No lie.

That's funny! Damnyouautocorrect is a funny site too, I frequently stop by there.
LOL For some reason my phone always wants to change "things" to "thongs"...my husband finds it hilarious!
I've sent a few bloopers myself! This was a good one! Sara
I can't bear my phone second guessing what I am writing. I turn that feature off every phone I get, and type everything myself! xxx
I love the autocorrect bloopers!

Hi Hermione,
As for radio pulling things off, my car radio was tuned to my son's current favourite, a local rock station. Imagine my surprise when the DJ informed me "You're listening to the Butt Show with Bilal Butt"? Your're right, you know. Spanking IS everywhere - no "butts" about it!
R.
Erica - Really? Someone must have been messing with the dictionary.
Kiwi - I don't like phones of any kind; I much prefer email; it's safer.
Spanky - I visit there more often than i should:)
Grace - LOL! That's a good one!
Sara - I suppose you don't have time to stop and proofread every text you write.
Daisy - Good for you!
Kitty - They're always good for a laugh.
A. Lurker - Cool! How very progressive of that DJ>
Hugs,
Hermioone
