Creativity I

See what fun we Canadians can have with our excess snow! Thank you to Ron for passing along these photos.

What is it like to live in Canada?

Sorry about the emergency post, guys. At least we know it works! Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

I know you've probably asked yourself this many times. Winter is still very much present in most parts of Canada, so if you are a regular reader of this blog you've probably figured out that in the frozen North we have found it an excellent way to keep warm. But what else goes on in Canada, besides spanking?

Our most popular coffee and doughnut shop is Tim Horton's - commonly referred to as "Timmie's". The drive-through (or in this case, ride-through) is usually lined up for blocks.

There are a few things we are ashamed of and would do over if we could. But then, nobody's perfect.

It's chilly up here, so we get the formalities over quickly.

Canadians are introverts, quite inhibited, and reluctant to make a public display of their emotions.

We are also unfailingly polite, and apologize even when it isn't our fault.

We are soft-spoken and not inclined to use bad language.

Have you seen the price of a gallon of the stuff lately?

Our lush forests and woodlands are full of amazing wildlife.

Hockey is our second national pastime. (The crease is an area of ice directly in front of the net, identified by a red border and blue interior.)

And there you have it.

Happy Birthday Canada!

Today we celebrate Canada Day, a commemoration of this day in 1867 when four colonies - the present provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec - united to become the country of Canada within the British Empire.

But how much do those of you who live in other countries really know about Canada? The video below was prepared for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC. The target audience was Americans, but people everywhere will find it very enlightening.

Tom Brokaw explains Canada to Americans.

Happy birthday Canada!

This will attract the tourists

This roadside sign near our nation's capital should attract plenty of passing vacationers. The pictures indicate that there are churches, boat ramps and grocery stores in the area, and that you can eat, fill up your tank, and get spanked.

Spanking on Parliament Hill? Who knew?

(I think it's a picture of a spanking. It could represent something else, but I prefer to think it's intended as a spanking symbol.)

But it's Art

Every day of the year, vigilant border personnel scrutinize books, leaflets, comics, magazines, DVDs, CDs and other material for objectionable content, then decide if it may or may not enter Canada. Last year, of the 384 items stopped for review, 167 were deemed admissible to the country and 217 were barred from entry.

The newspaper story that provided this information included a small sample of items allowed in and those that were banned.

I was pleased to see that the list of examined items permitted to enter Canada included a DVD called Spanking 101. It probably had artistic merit.

Red and white ... and red

To celebrate Canada Day today, Ron brought out our red and white implements and gave me a very thorough and patriotic bottom-warming. First, the red leather slapper was applied slowly and methodically.

"Did you know the side with the holes makes a different sound from the side without?" Ron asked me.

"Mmmph. No," I muttered from beneath the bedspread where my upper half had taken refuge. "Show me."

He did, and he was right. You learn something new every day!

Then Ron switched to the white composite spatula/paddle. Brisk, sharp strokes as the paddle danced over my cheeks; back and forth, up and down.

Back to the red leather, slow and solemn.

then the white, rapid-fire staccato.

Red thunderous swats, and white lightning in a grand finale.

And he concluded his version of our national anthem, I was displaying a very red rear - highly appropriate for our country's birthday. I'll be standing at attention for a while.

Happy Canada Day!

The Challenge

When I published the third Positions post, I said I wanted to hear from anyone who had tried every position in all three posts, either as a spanker or as a spankee.

Lisa took me up on the challenge. Here's what she wrote on my blog:

June 30 at 10:42 am
Thank you for the fantastic "positions" posts and after reviewing the positions numerous times I came up with a fantastic idea. I am Canadian and tomorrow is Canada Day so I told hubby we are going to have a Canada Day Marathon. Throughout the day tomorrow I am going to spank him in every one of the positions that you posted. I have not decided on all the details for example I was thinking 10 smacks in each position but maybe more not sure as we have all day for the spanking and if I should just use my hand or?

Should be fun.
Lisa

A second comment from her two hours later showed that she had been giving the matter a great deal of thought.

June 30 at 12:40 pm
Again thank you for the position info. I decided that I would use a number of implements. I made a screen shot of the positions and cut them out. Wayne will draw one out of a container. He then will draw another paper from a different container that will have sheets of paper with my favorite implements including my hand. Only detail left is number of spanks.

The next day I found this email from Lisa in my inbox:

July 1 at 1:21 am
I am all set to start my Spanking Marathon day first thing in the morning. I count a total of 25 different positions at 10 smacks each position it will be a fun day for me.

I have to admit that my thoughts were with them both on that day, along with the parades, barbecues and fireworks. Especially during the fireworks.

July 1 at 6:19 pm
Started at 7:00 am this morning. 18 positions and 180 spanks down 7 positions and 70 spanks to go. His bottom has been red all day lol.

I'm sure it was red. After a very long day, the final tally from Lisa was in:

July 2 at 12:15 am
All done.
25 positions - 250 spanks = 1 red bottom (and warm to the touch I might add lol)

Let's have a big round of applause for Lisa and Wayne, who really know how to celebrate Canada Day. Will this be an annual tradition, Lisa?

142 and counting

Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canadian spanking enthusiasts!

Today is the 142nd anniversary of Confederation, the day when a small collection of provinces in British North America became united as the Dominion of Canada.

Today's holiday was originally called Dominion Day, and in 1982 the name was officially changed to Canada Day.

Did you know that Canada is the second largest country in the world?

My Australian friend subtletimes has written a "food porn" post, so I thought you might like to sample a few Canadian delicacies.

Canadian, eh?

I saw this on a t-shirt and modified it slightly to include our favourite pastime.

I Am Canadian

I do not travel by dogsled
I am not a fur trader or a lumberjack
I live in the second largest country in the world
I live in a house, not an igloo
Winter only lasts one season
I do not know your second cousin Dave in Moosejaw
Our currency was not based on Monopoly money
The maple leaf is our national symbol
The beaver is our national animal
A loonie is a dollar, not a relative
and

We are the best spankers in the world!
