Still Going Strong

Today is a double celebration: my blog and I are both one year older. The blog is 14, and I am...older than that :)

Thank you to all my dear readers who have supported me through the years. I couldn't have done it without you.

Recap: Spanko Brunch 2.0 for March 5

How should we celebrate my birthday/blogaversary? Here are your creative suggestions:

Barrel: Well let me be the first to wish you Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary! Both special milestones.

My offering may depend on how memorable you and Ron want to make it. But I’d suggest:

Take your age, divide by 10, then Ron spanks you for that many minutes with his hand or a hairbrush to kick things off.
You pick your favorite implement and you get strokes to equal your age.
Ron picks his favorite implement and you get the same number of strokes.
Ron picks the implement you dislike the most and, (most memorable???) you get that many strokes with the dreaded implement.

Thereafter, Ron takes you to your favorite restaurant, on a very tender bottom, so you each share your memories of the day’s events over your favorite meal.

Happy Birthday and thank you so much for hosting these weekly events. They are so special for many of us.

Roz: Happy Birthday and Happy Blogiversary Hermione! Two wonderful milestones!

I picture a nice fun spanking with other fun activities and a lovely dinner at a favourite restaurant.

Baxter: Wow, 14 years of this blog. That is real staying power on your part. I think in recognition of all the work you have put into it, you should get a memorable bare bottom spanking, the number of spanks would be at Ron's discretion, as only he knows you and how naughty you are. But really, I have been following your blog for many years now and enjoy it every week. Some blogs have come and go, but it is really nice that yours continues to endure through your ongoing creativity and enthusiasm. Congratulations and many spankings for you.

Jean Marie: I think that he should make dinner reservations at your favorite restaurant (or the place that serves your favorite meal) with no thought to price or calories.
I think that he should draw you a hot bath, and shampoo your hair for you and wash and massage your feet. Then he should work his way in toward your middle, soaping and massaging all the longer, deeper as he gets into your core.
When you come home from dinner, he should spank you just exactly how you love it, but then a little bit more, a little bit harder, to push that envelope, so you're not sure when he'll stop.
Then he should take that little magic blue pill. But he should not rely on pleasing you just with that appendage. He should use his fingers and tongue and toes and nose and...
You deserve every pleasure, even a painful one, because of who you are! Happy birthday, happy anniversary of this great blog, Hermione!

Wendel: How to celebrate birthdays? Why cake and a spanking of course. A spanking for you not the blog, that, that would be just weird.
Congrats on 14 years of blogging. Be sure to tell us how you ended up celebrating.

Rick Person: I think you should wear your birthday suit all day long, and then just let nature take its course.

It's a little cold here for that, but a nice thought :)

Ronnie: Hermione, Happy birthday and Happy Blogiversary.

As you are probably still not going out to restaurants yet. I think a lovely walk (depending on the weather) together then an afternoon of spanking and other fun activities followed by Ron cooking your favourite meal.

Morningstar: Happy Birthday and Happy Blog Anniversary - 14 years is really quite a milestone these days considering how many bloggers have 'disappeared'.

As for how you should celebrate to make it a memorable one..... I don't know but dinner seems ordinary..... ya know?? everyone does a birthday dinner!! I was thinking more like breakfast in bed - or if that's not your idea of fun - just a nice cooked breakfast with all your favourites - and maybe some nice flowers to decorate the table.....

Spankings of course will happen but to make it memorable? There's the usual one spank for each year - one spank for each year with every toy - one spank for each year and you have to count them..... or how about just a spanking of your preference - your favourite toys - just enough intensity to make you glow........ ??

Whatever you do to make the day memorable - I am sure it will be as special as you are :)

Prefectdt: Happy Birthday and Blogiversary.

How about this - First find out how far you can be away from a Birthday cake candle and still be able to blow it out. So that it is possible for you to do it, but it is not easy. Negotiate a spanking toy that is mutually agreeable to both you and Ron. Then bend over something comfortable, with your Birthday cake, candles lit, at the distance previously mentioned. Ron proceeds to spank you, whilst singing Happy Birthday to you, and does not stop until you have managed to blow out all the candles on the cake. And make an audio recording of the affair, so that we can all hear how it went. :)

Jack: Why not ensure you get the birthday spanking you want. Dress as provative as you can, do things that would prompt the spanking. If you dare, wear the least amount and walk outside, backyard, if asked, just say being a naughty little girl, waiting for Daddy to spank me. That should arouse him, and afterwards the gift you really want will happen.

Red: Congratulations on both birthdays. Actually, you can now reasonably safely go out for lunch or dinner, so I think Ron should give you a real spanking before going out for a meal! Afterwards, when you get back home, a second spanking stronger than the first, on an already tender bottom.
Then a truly memorable fucking with the magic of the little blue pill.
In addition, you should reach out to one spanking friend you have never met, and arrange to meet sometime this year. (I never give up on this one)
Happy Birthday.

A.J.: To paraphrase "Bluto Blutarsky:"

"14 years; and all I have to show for it is a red and sore bottom. Lucky me!"

Another 6 and you will have had a career!

Graham: Happy Birthday! I have no doubt the two of you will figure out the best way to celebrate it, but we voyeurs would love to hear that it included a perfect spanking and some hot sex as well as a romantic night in or out. Enjoy!

KDPierre: I have no suggestions, but would like to extend Happy Birth&Blogday wishes.

Hermione: What lovely suggestions! I'd like to try them all.

Here's what actually happened. Ron cooked us a lovely breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast. Later that afternoon he chose an all-leather theme: the dogging bat, a black leather "hand", and a suede slapper. I added the rose paddle and we were off! I know I got many more swats than my age. I think he added in his age for good measure. Then it was cuddle time. Later, Ron picked up a  pizza from the best pizzeria in town and we had a lovely meal at home.

A Delightful Dozen

Twelve years ago today I celebrated my birthday by starting this blog. Who knew that a dozen years later, I would still be blogging, or that I would have formed so many friendships with people who share my interest in percussive activity. You, dear readers, have made my journey a delight. Thank you.

To celebrate, Ron is taking me to one of our favourite restaurants. Later...who knows?

Happy Birthday Canada!

Canada is a great place to visit. You will find that we're very friendly and welcoming to everyone.

No judgment here

It can be just a tad cold in the winter

But we take it in stride

Even when the ice and snow have gone, it can get pretty windy on the open Prairies

Canadians are known for being very polite. "Sorry" is the second most common word you'll hear, the first being "Eh".

Our proud young country gets 148 birthday spanks today.  Let the celebrations begin!

My New Toy

Wednesday was also my birthday, and Ron gave me a very special present. No, I don't mean a spanking, although that was nice too.

Once upon a time I had a BlackBerry mobile device, and I loved it. It was the property of the company I worked for, and was supposed to be for official business only, but I also managed to enjoy the games on it. I used it for personal email, browsing blogs, phone calls, and all sorts of other non-work related activities. I always wore it in a holster clipped to my belt, and got used to the vibrations it made whenever a new email came in.

Then I left the company and had to turn in the BlackBerry. I was eager to have another, but Ron didn't think I needed one, and said it was an unnecessary expense. Sigh. I went through a period of withdrawal, constantly reaching for the non-existent device whenever I felt a phantom vibration at my waist. But I learned to cope without it, although I still gazed longingly at the mobile phone displays whenever I went to the mall.

Then last week, for no apparent reason, Ron told me that he thought we should have a mobile phone for emergencies. It would be good to know, he said, that I had a way of contacting him when I was out somewhere and needed help. What a surprise! I wasn't expecting that, but I told him it was the nicest birthday present I could have wished for. I was to choose exactly what I wanted, and could do whatever I wanted with it. The only stipulation was that I needed to show Ron how to use the phone feature so that he could carry it if he went out somewhere and I was at home.

So after doing some research on the Internet, I headed to the cell phone store and came home with this:

It's a BlackBerry, but not like the other one I had. This one combines the physical keypad (which I love and wouldn't be without) with the touch and swipe features that all the other cell phones have. I have the best of both worlds! Because it's mine and not owned by my employer, I can download games and other fun and useful apps. I have free unlimited texting too! Texting was forbidden on the company BlackBerry.

Now I can check my email any time, anywhere, and take pictures too. Once I figured out how to use the phone, I put our important numbers on speed dial and showed Ron how it worked.

I love my new toy! Isn't Ron the best? Better late than never, I always say.

Now We Are Six

Hermione's Heart is six years old today!

What a wonderful time I've had, blogging and meeting other like-minded bloggers. Over the years, we have had our ups and down together. There have been happy and sad times, and we've laughed and cried together. Old friends have disappeared or retired, and new friends have joined our ever-widening circle.

I still enjoy blogging about spanking, and I can't wait to see what the coming year will bring. Looking back over the past six years, I see how the blog has changed and evolved. With apologies to A.A. Milne, I think this poem sums it up.

When my blog was one,
I had just begun.
When Heart was two,
it was nearly new.
When it reached three,
I was really finding me.
When it turned four,
I discovered so much more.
When it became five,
I really came alive.
Now Hermione's Heart is six,
But I'm not done,
So hold on for seven,
The best is yet to come.
Thank you all, dear readers, for joining me in year seven of our journey together.

146 Birthday Spanks

Today is Canada's 146th birthday. I know there are many popular misconceptions about the country in which I live.

Many people believe that Canada is a land of perpetual ice and snow. Not true. We do have warm, sunny weather on occasion. I believe it's due on July 19th this year.

You can do anything to a Canadian. We won't sue you.
(Heh, heh, heh. Just try it.)

No, really, we don't all look like Bob and Doug McKenzie. The other 1 million of us are quite normal.

One thing that is true is that today, we will be celebrating!

 There will be parades...

Cake and other good things...

And fireworks!

I'm proud to be a Canadian, and do you want to know why?

I hope that wherever you are in the world, you will raise a glass and toast our fair country (or toast the bottom nearest to you), and may you enjoy your own fireworks in honor of this special day.

Five Years and Counting

My, how time does fly! It seems like only yesterday that I created my blog and, with great trepidation, published my first post.

It's been five years since that day, and I am now five years older, wiser, and happier since I became a part of the blogging community.

It's true. You, dear readers, are my friends, and the reason I keep on blogging. Thank you for your continued support, inspiration and enthusiasm. I'll do my best to keep blogging for another five years.

Oh well, you can't please everyone.

Happy Birthday Canada!

Today we celebrate Canada Day, a commemoration of this day in 1867 when four colonies - the present provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec - united to become the country of Canada within the British Empire.

But how much do those of you who live in other countries really know about Canada? The video below was prepared for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC. The target audience was Americans, but people everywhere will find it very enlightening.

Tom Brokaw explains Canada to Americans.

Happy birthday Canada!

Our PM loves kitties.

Fourth Blogaversary

How times flies! Who would have thought that I'd ever be able to say I have been blogging for four years? But it's true, and you, dear readers, are the reason. You make it all worthwhile.

So let's celebrate, and what's a celebration without cake? For your enjoyment, I have some deliciously kinky cupcakes, from the book of the same name by Joanna Farrow (available on Amazon.com).

Enjoy!

Since today is also my birthday, I'm expecting to get plenty of attention from my dear husband. He's taking me out for dinner tonight - that much I know. But knowing him, he will have some other surprises in store for me.

Let the party begin!

Spanking On the Air

During the drive home from work, I usually listen to an afternoon radio program featuring a pair of lively personalities - Jayne and Steeve - who chat about anything and everything between musical selections.

Last week, Jayne told Steeve that it was her birthday, and she was looking forward to a party that evening.  "Jayne's going to get lots of birthday spankings," she exclaimed. Why she referred to herself in the third person remains a mystery. Maybe she picked it up from George Costanza on a Seinfeld rerun. But she put considerable emphasis on the last word in the sentence.

No more was said that day, but the next afternoon, Steeve asked her about the celebration of the night before. He wasn't familiar with the tradition of birthday spankings, and had some questions.  I'll reproduce the conversation as best I can.

S: So, did you enjoy the party? Did you really get a birthday spanking?

J: Yes, I got lots of them from my friends!

S: So people really do this? You stand there and they come up to you and spank you?

J: Right. I mean, they don't come running up to you from across the room or anything and POW. They just get behind you and do it.

S: So you got twenty-seven spanks?

J: Yes, from each friend. Can't you see the pillow taped to my bum?

S: Well, if you're into that sort of thing.

Maybe she is!

Complete the Caption - Blogaversary Special

It's my third blogaversary here at Hermione's Heart. As it happens, it's also my birthday.

In honour of the double celebration, I have a very special picture for you. No, not the one of Crookshanks above. (I hope I get to blow out the candles before she demolishes the cake!) It's the one below - a very rare photo of a hippogriff.

If you are a Harry Potter fan, you know all about hippogriffs. They are mythical creatures, half eagle and half horse. But who is that on the beast's back? Could it be Hermione? Where have they been? Where are they going? What will happen when they get there?

This is obviously a fantasy, and in fantasies anything can happen. So let your imagination run wild and create an out of this world caption. Leave it as a comment, or send me an email.  I will post your mythical musings tomorrow.

Never Spank a Blonde

Last week Ron had a visit from an old friend I'll call Brenda. She brought him a small gift for his birthday and they had a friendly chat over coffee.

That evening Ron told me Brenda's latest news about her family, their vacation, home renovations and other odds and ends.

"They aren't doing the spanking thing," Ron said, as casually as he had mentioned her daughter's graduation.

"Oh."  He had caught me off guard before with his references to spanking and our friends. I knew he was fibbing, so I played along.

"No? Too bad." I paused, pretending I was considering the situation. "So, did Allen try to spank her? What did she think about it?"

"It's not going to happen," Ron replied, deadpan. Then I caught his eye and we both burst out laughing. The mental picture of sweet, gentle Allen spanking his bossy, domineering blond wife was a delightful one.

But you know what they say:

never spank a blonde.
