I am with you on this most definitely...forever and always...
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
Hermoine, I lived as a school boy in England during World War 11, and all the allied soldiers, did a masterful job of defending us. So three cheers, and bless them all.
I would have not thought to post anything about Veterans on a spanking blog, but I am pleased that you did. My neighbor and I will toast ourselves and all those we once knew today.
I'm not saying this in any critical kind of way but just out of curiosity. Is there a story or reason that the design of the Canadian poppy is different from that used in the other commonwealth countries or is it just one of those things?
Prefectdt, I am not sure why our poppies are different from yours. I suppose they were designed by separate groups.
For a few years, the black center in ours was replaced with a green one. Not at all botanically correct! Because of that, they have gone back to using black centers. So you can spot the people who save their poppies from year to year if you see green centers.

Hermione, thank you!
I lived through WW2 and my father fought in both and I was a regular soldier
Warm hugs,
Paul.

Thanks Hermione.
Ours disintegrate every time that it rains (I went through 2 yesterday), so they can't be saved from year to year.
