Twelfth Night

Today is the twelfth day of Christmas, also known as the feast of the Epiphany which commemorates the visit of the magi to the Christ child in Bethlehem. While the image above is a kinky version the popular song The Twelve Days of Christmas, I also came across a hilarious vanilla version, presented by the late Irish singer, writer and actor Frank Kelly.

P.S. It's also a big day in America, so let's try to think positive, sane, democratic thoughts. From Hermione's Heart

Thanks for the much needed humor to see me through this crazy day! I hope we Americans come though this fiasco with our democracy intact.

Most hilarious! I actually spent some time looking up the 12 days of christmas to figure out when it starts and when it ends. Seems me and my sister are in disagreement as I mentioned something about january the 5th being the last day of Christmas.

She follows the catholic count which says 26/dec is day 1 and 6/jan is day 12 - Epiphany, whereas I'm trying to tell her that day 1 technically starts with NIGHT 1 - at sundown on christmas day and ends at sundown on the 26th, so it follows that 12th night would start on 5th jan and precedes 12th day so we're both right, kind of. She is totally against my explanation. sigh.
