No one can see what you're reading

Or can they?

Joey wrote a hilariously funny account of the book being discussed at a family gathering. I have also heard the book being discussed in a most unlikely place. You'll see where when you read my comment on Joey's post.

A Royal Boot

As part of of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations for our Queen (sixty years on the throne - imagine that!) HRH Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are visiting Canada this week. In their honour here is a little Royal humour.

Guess the Implement - the Reveal

It's no mystery that this month's mystery implement is a boot jack (aka welly taker offer, boot removal aid thingy, boot doofer, or spurner/eschewer). Who knew it had so many different names?

If you wear boots for some activity like horseback riding, you will find it much easier to remove your boots with one of these handy helpers.

Step on the boot jack with one foot, and slip the heel of the other foot into the curved opening, then pull your leg up and out of the boot.

The boot comes off without a struggle!

Thanks, everyone, for playing Guess the Implement.
It won't be this easy next month.

The Ultimate...

What a shock I got when I found this picture in my inbox this morning, at the top of a newsletter from a popular Canadian seed and garden supply company. (I did make a minor adjustment to it before I posted it.)

They are the ultimate - in kinky gardening. These would make those nasty slugs and earwigs cower in submission. And possibly the neighbours too.
