Nominated!

Young Lady kindly nominated me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award. It's good to know that in some small way my posts inspire my readers. Thank you, YL.

Now I have to tell you seven things about myself. I don't have many secrets left, but here are a few tidbits I haven't shared:

  1. Ron and I attended the same university but at different times; we never met there.

  2. I saw the Beatles in concert on their second North American tour.

  3. One summer I was a lifeguard and swimming instructor.

  4. Ron hates bagpipes and I love them. I am fortunate to be able to listen to them being played several times a year. Ron stays home.

  5. I have shaken hands with former Canadian Prime Minister Joe Clark.

  6. I never believed in Santa Claus. In fact, I never even knew about him until I started school and heard the other kids talking about him.

  7. I have seen several famous people in person: the Queen Mother, the Queen and Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales, and American President Dwight Eisenhower, on their various trips to Canada.

Hermione,

Congratulations on the award and for sharing a little more about yourself. Fun to read.

Same with us - I love bagpipes, P hates them, thinks it just a lot of noise:)

Love,
Ronnie

Herimione,

Thank you for sharing interesting facts about yourself. I like bagpipes as well. You would love the St. Patrick's Day parade.

Congratulations on being chosen.

Congratulations on the award Hermione!

Thank you for sharing. I always love reading a little more about my bloggy friends :)

We are both in the can't stand bagpipes camp (sorry!)
That's a few interesting people you've seen! We managed to see Prince Charles and Camilla on their visit down under last year.

Hugs,
Roz

Dear Inspired, Congratulations! Ike, The Beatles? You are close to our age. We like Bagpipes. Seldom hear them live way down here.

Ronnie - Maybe it's the thought of wearing a kilt to go with it that bothers him.

Joey - Yes, I'm sure I would love it.

Roz - I haven't seen Camilla yet but hope to see William and Kate someday.

Bogey - Yes, I'm of your generation, but young at heart.

Hugs,
Hermione

It's always interesting to learn things about each other. I love bagpipes too and hubby hates them. Maybe it's a man thing.

Congratulations Hermione, well deserved if I may say so. It would seem that you have met most of the royal family, perhaps you must be royalty yourself. I should address you as ma'am from now on ;)

Congratulation, your blog is full of energy.

How your parents kept Santa from you must of been a work of magic...

Congrats Hermione :) It was fun to read a little more about you. And who wouldn't like bagpipes I ask?! :)

Sunny - Ron used to live beside a park where beginner pipers practised. that my be the reason.

Fiona - My pleasure.

Gary - Haven't met any, only saw them at a distance in a slow-moving carriage or car. But in person!

1manview - We didn't have television back then, so it wasn't hard. My mother thought people who told their children "lies" about Santa were bad parents.

Dee - What's not to like?

Hugs,
Hermione

YOU SAW THE BEATLES??? Pardon me while I swoon. I never forgave my brother for not taking me with him when he went to see them at the Hollywood Bowl. (It might have had something to do with the fact that I was six years old.)

Congratulations and I enjoyed reading more about you.

Hermione, congratulations on your award. I see by the people you have seen you've been 'royally' treated. One of my claims to 15 minutes of fame, was interviewing Elizabeth Taylor, and Richard Burton.

Way to go, Hermione!
My sincere congratulations.
And thank you for sharing
your wonderful experiences.
What are your favourite songs
of the Fab Four?

Hermione,

Your blog IS inspiring:). I've read it for a long time and only recently read it as Hannah.

We have something in common besides a love of spanking. I never believed in Santa Claus, either.

Also, I think it's neat that you have seen so many famous people.

Love,
Hannah

Erica - They were on stage for exactly 20 minutes and sang 14 songs, mostly inaudible due to the screaming of the audience. I used binoculars to see them, and I was in heaven!

Young Lady - My pleasure, and thank you:)

SNP - I'm glad you liked my revelations.

Six - Now that's impressive!

Ricky - I'd have to say "Yesterday" is my favourite.

Hannah - Welcome!!! You never believed in Santa either? We are truly kindred spirits.

Hugs,
Hermione
