Many of us have used arnica at one time or another to reduce occasional bruising that accompanies enthusiastic spanking. But what if you don't happen to have any arnica? There's a simple remedy that everyone has on hand. It's toothpaste. The plain old white kind, without fluoride, whiteners or stripes. According to this article:
Before heading off to bed, apply a mixture of toothpaste and skin lotion to the bruise and wrap with an ace bandage or a band-aid to keep the sheets clean. Wash the paste off in the morning and reapply for two or three nights. Bruises that normally take a week or two to fade disappear much faster.
I'll have to try that next time I have a bruise, although the ace bandage might not be very comfortable.

Hi Hermoine, very interesting. I hadn't heard of using toothpaste for bruises before, or many of the other uses listed in the article. Thank you for sharing.
Hugs
Roz
It totally works to get rid of 'love bites' on your neck ;) I used it as a teenager!
This looks like an interesting idea Hermione! :). Thanks for sharing!! I enjoyed the article too.
Toothpaste sure is a versatile product! I remember using it to fill the holes in my dormitory wall at the end of a college year- the ones that were not supposed to be made because you were not supposed to hang things with nails! Lol!
I wonder if a bottom that smells like mint would be a turn off to our partners? Lol!! Many hugs,
<3 Katie
Roz - I didn't know toothpaste was so versatile either.
Callie - How clever of you!
Katie - A fresh minty spanking? It might work.
Hugs,
Hermione
I wonder how many of us still have the plain white toothpaste around? Another thought I have is what is the ingredient that does the work? Baking soda?
Wow! That's interesting, and it certainly makes the imagination wonder... ;-)
Hi Hermione, this sounds like a funny and refreshing way of care for the bottom. I think we are going to try this just for the mint smell, could be fun. :)
hugs

Interesting Hermiione. Hadn't heard of using toothpaste for bruises. Not sure I'd try it.
I know the non-gel type works well on cleaning the bathroom sink and taps.

Haha, I have to admit that the image of wrapping my whole bottom in an ace bandage had me laughing out loud.
A NSAID gel would probably the best remedy, if skin not broken. Bayer used to market Lasonil and Bayolin which were supposed to reduce bruising, but of doubtful therapeutic efficacy as is arnica.
I think the ace bandage would get in the way when going to the bathroom. I foresee an oops.
Hi Hermione, I love my bruises so this is not for me. How on earth did Callie discover this trick on her love bites?
love Jan,xx
Minelle - It's probably hard to come by. Maybe in a dollar store you could find some cheap stuff.
Christina - It does indeed!
Nina - For a small bruise maybe a small bandage would suffice.
Ronnie - According to the article it has a myriad of uses, mostly for cleaning. I'm going to try it on jewelry.
Autums - Me too!
Anon - Sounds good, but probably pricier than toothpaste.
EL - It sure would.
Jan - That's a very good question. And I love my bruises too.
Hugs,
Hermione
You learn something new everyday day!
Wow! Now I know...and now I need to try it out.
As far as wrapping a girls whole bottom in an ace bandage? Now that is just funny.
Thanks Hermione.
I never heard of arnica.
I've heard of toothpaste for acne!
