Spatulas have been on my mind recently.
Ron received a lovely one for Christmas. I'll tell you more about that some other time.
Spatulas come in all shapes, sizes and colours.

Send your special someone a spatula from
Spatula City.
Except they aren't real; they're virtual. And they aren't spatulas; they're pancake turners. Still, it's the thought that counts.

My favourite is a wooden spatula - mine is shaped to gradually flare out from the perfectly-sized handle to its curved flat end. It is light enough to be springy in the hand, rebound perfectly and not bruise, but it is just heavy enough to apply shimmering fire, should this ever be needed. It makes a mean risotto too and the feel of it in my hand in the kitchen always makes me smile!
Makes me think about things that sizzle and cook.
Spatulas can produce many different sensations, from sexy to set-on-fire! Certainly a few to try out here! Are you volunteering YOUR bottom, cos I'm sure as heck staying sitting on mine! xxxxxxx
Spatulas not my favourite, give me a wooden spoon any day.
LOL had to laugh at the last picture. Hermione. Not so keen on the second one though.
Love,
Ronnie

TMT - That sounds like a winner on both counts.
Mick - And not on top of the stove, right?
Daisy - Yes, and I think I haven't had the set-on-fire type yet. I did have a chance to sample one or two at Christmas.
Ronnie - In my experience, they look worse than they feel.
Hugs,
Hermione
This post made me grin -- such creativity!
I've never been spanked with a rubber spatula. Is that a must to avoid?
A virtual spatula? You've got to be kidding! I love it!
Although I think I might prefer a real one in my mailbox.
Hope you had a great New Year!

We have two that hubby just got in his stocking more of as joke than anything. When I bought them they were with the idea he would have their to stir the tea or his eggs when he cooked. One is red with snow flakes and one is white with Santa on it. However when he pulled them out of his stocking he popped his hand with them and looked at me and said nice. The boys didn't catch on but I avoided him when he had those spatulas in his hand. Now they have been run through the dishwasher and tucked safely away in the drawer in the kitchen. What was I thinking...
rubber spatulas simply have too much metal, form the ones i have seen. I do like the last one though.
cheers

Erica - No, not at all. Ours isn't too bad, just loud and thuddy.
Pink - Yes, we had a great new year. I'd prefer a real one too, but the virtual one has your name on it!
Annie - Your new spatulas sound like fun!
Red - Ours has a wooden handle. Yes, the last one's fun.

Hermione
LOL, I read this post yesterday and this morning I was in the car with my dad and my son listening to Weird Al when a "commercial" from the movie UHF came on, it was for a store called Spatula City. Which of course immediately reminded me of this post. At some point they say "don't forget, they make great Christmas presents" It was quite a struggle not to laugh too loud or blurt out something I would really rather not say in front of my dad or my son.
Nerina - LOL that's too funny! I wonder if there really is such a store, or if they were referring to the virtual one.
Hugs,
Hermione
