Guess the Implement

What do you suppose this wooden creation is used for when it's not reddening someone's bottom? Last month you were all so clever at guessing the mystery implement that I think I made it too easy. This might be a little tougher. Then again, maybe not.

Leave your guess in a comment, and I will reveal all tomorrow.

Can't remember the proper name of it, but I believe it is for pulling out and pushing in a hot oven rack. The notch on the side catches the edge of the rack so that you can pull it out, the curvature on the end is used for pushing it back in.

I love your "Guess the Implement" posts Hermione.

I've looked and looked and come to the conclusion that I have no idea at all.

I've never heard of the item Rose thinks it may be.

Don't leave it too long before you let us know please.

Love,
Ronnie

I agree with Rose. That's the first thing I thought when I saw it, too :) I have on shaped as a fish that is never used for the oven, hehe. I posted a picture of it on my blog.

Yep, I agree with Rose. I think we got you this time. It definitely resembles an oven rack tool. Hmm, not sure if I'd like to be spanked with it though.
I think Naomi's fish would be fun however. Thanks for the post.

Yup an oven rack puller/pusher. My mom has one but hers is curved on the end so you have to push with the pull part too! They work great for toaster ovens as well!

This looks very similar to (but not the same as) a thing my teachers used to use, in Comprehensive (High) school, for reaching the next pulling/pushing point, that used to be on the roll around black boards that we had back then.

Looking at the shape of this, I would be very wary of being spanked with it ;)

Definitely the oven rack tool! I have one (but rarely use it).

It just looks like a giant toothbrush to me. Guess I'm not all that well-versed on kitchen implements. :D
