Guess the Implement - the Reveal

This is the full view of the implement you saw in the last post. It's called a Boa Constrictor Strap Wrench and it's used to tighten or loosen odd-shaped objects. Congratulations to all those who guessed correctly!

This one is from Ron's toolbox. According to the online catalogue, it comes in two sizes "for general household or heavy-duty applications. Non-slip, soft rubber handle for a secure grip and superior comfort. Incredibly strong, but won't scratch."

This is the underside. As you can see, the useful part of this tool is the loop on the right. The excess length of rubber strap on the left is the business end for - ahem - other household uses :)

Thank you for all your clever guesses. Complete the Caption will return next week.

Guess the Implement

We haven't played "Guess the Implement" for some time, so let's have some guesses about this little beauty.

What could this object be used for, other than spanking? It is about 2 feet (60 cm) long, but that's the only hint I'm going to give you.

What do you think it is?  I'll accept all guesses: serious, silly, or somewhere in between. I'll publish the answer in the next post.

Guess the Implement

This is the paddle that I bought at the same time as the ivory hairbrush. It's a sturdy, large wooden implement, and the other side is even more interesting:

If you can't read what's printed on it, it says:

New Orleans
Lagnappe of N.O. Ltd

So, it's a souvenir of someone's holiday in the Big Easy. But what do you think it was intended for? Is it something to do with food preparation or cooking? Or do people buy these to use in a different way?

What do you think this keepsake was meant to do? Leave your ideas - real or imaginary - as a comment. I'm really curious about this one, and hope someone from Nawlins will give on the real scoop.

You Completed the Caption for 2011

Champagne must be the secret of creativity. After the New Year's Eve celebrations, you were inspired to create some very enticing captions.

Daisychain: "I hope the spanking takes as long to build as I did!"

Mick: "Come play with me."

James: I'm gonna spank your blocks off!!!

Tenth Muse Top: There are no naughty girls in Legoland - only very, very happy ones.

Michael: "Don't you dare lego of the back of that chair during your spanking, young lady, or next I'll construct a spanking bench."

Ronnie: "Now are you going to build someone for me to play with?"

A Lurker: 1. "Get Lego for great erections!"

2. "Spank me hard enough and I will turn into a real girl"

Libby: "You didn't build me just to break me down, did you?"

Prefectdt: "Aren't you glad that Santa gave you all that Lego now?"

Red: Isn't it time you met a real woman, and stopped playing with toys?

KellyRed: Play On!

I'm sold on Lego! For those of you who didn't have a caption but left me New Year good wishes, thank you.

Complete the Caption in 2011

Welcome to the first Complete the Caption for 2011.

This picture is a bit unusual. It's an ad for Lego building blocks, and the young lady kneeling on the chair, waiting fora spanking, is made of Lego. The warning in the lower right says the content is intended for adults.

What catchy caption or slogan would you add to this picture to make shoppers flock to the toystore and buy Lego blocks? Leave your ad copy in the comments basket and I will publish the results tomorrow in the Sunday edition.

A Little Winter Fun

Each year, Scotsman.com runs a contest called the Haggis Hunt. The idea is simple. Go to the haggishunt website and watch the ten webcams. Most  of them are located in various parts of Scotland, but there's one in Times Square in New York. When you spot a haggis - either a golden haggis like the one pictured above, or a plain brown one - click on the "I saw a haggis" button and send your sighting to the Chief Ghillie, Farquhar Farquharson.

What can you win? A stay in a luxury hotel, a spa treatment, a round of golf (all in Scotland), a Harris tweed jacket, boxes of crisps, Scotsman calendars, and much more.

While you're waiting to see a haggis, be sure to check out the Haggisclopedia of interesting facts about hagii. Nothing kinky, just silly.

The contest ends on Burns' night, so have fun while you can.

Guess the Implement

The last two mystery implements (here and here) were rather difficult to guess, so this month I'm making it easy for you (I think).

If you engage in one of several vanilla activities that require a certain article of clothing, you will probably be familiar with this wooden item. If not, then give it your best shot anyway.

Please leave your guess as a comment, and I will reveal the answer tomorrow.

Good luck!

Guess the Implement - the Reveal

Many of you knew exactly what this month's mystery implement was. This amazing gadget is used for pulling a hot oven rack forward, so you can reach whatever you're baking in the oven. And by hooking the curved inner part over the rim of a casserole dish or baking pan you can pull it closer to you. And by pressing the curved outer edge against the dish, you can position it exactly where you want it without reaching too far in.

Thank you to all who played Guess the Implement! I'll have to come up with something much more mysterious next time.

Guess the Implement

What do you suppose this wooden creation is used for when it's not reddening someone's bottom? Last month you were all so clever at guessing the mystery implement that I think I made it too easy. This might be a little tougher. Then again, maybe not.

Leave your guess in a comment, and I will reveal all tomorrow.

Guess the Implement - the Reveal

Well, I didn't fool most of you. Many of you knew that the wicked straplike implement was really a harmless leather keychain, designed to be snapped around your belt or purse handle to keep your keys close by.

Thanks for all your creative guesses, and I'll see you next time.

Guess the Implement

It's time for another exciting round of Guess the Implement. This one looks easy, but remember, you have no idea how large or how small this interesting item is.

Leave your suspicions, surmises and suppositions in a comment, and I'll reveal its true purpose soon.

Guess the Implement - the Reveal

As several of you guessed, this not-so-intimidating spanking implement is also a rubber spatula, used as a hygienic alternative to fingers when licking batter or icing from a mixing bowl.

Thank you to all who played the guessing game this month!

Guess the Implement

Here's another chance for you to guess what this implement is used for, other than its primary purpose - spanking, of course!

Leave a comment with your guess, and I'll reveal the truth in a day or two.

Guess the Implement

It's time to get out your crystal balls once more. Any guesses on what this lovely object might be used for, besides reddening my bottom?

Please leave a comment with your opinion, suspicion or inspiration.

I'll leave you in suspense for a day or two before I reveal the true nature of this beast.

Guess the Implement - the Reveal

This month's mystery implement prompted some very creative guesses.

What is it?Why is it coloured?
Leather shoehornleft and right shoes
Skin filecoarse and fine
pH testeracid and alkali
Stirrercold and hot
Spatula
Pregnancy testeryes or no
Cooking implementhot and cold
Paint stirrerdifferent paint colours
Spatulapeanut butter and jam
Safety matchbrown burns, blue doesn't
Spatula/stirrer
Nail filefiling and buffing
Tester
File
Canoe paddle
Manicure toolcuticle shaper
Paint stirrer

Congratulations to Anonymous for correctly guessing that it is a spatula specially designed to scoop both peanut butter and jam or jelly out of a jar.

The two ends are colour-coded so that the peanut butter-covered end doesn't end up in the jam jar, and vice versa.

Thanks, everyone, for playing guess the implement.

Guess the Implement

We haven't played guess the implement for a while, so here's a fun one.

While it might be easy to speculate on the vanilla purpose of this little paddle, why is it coloured the way it is?

Leave a comment with your guesses as to what it is and what the colours represent, and I'll reveal the true use of this "stick with a difference" in a day or two.

Guess the Implement - the Reveal

The mystery implement from the last post is a keychain! It's far too small to make any real impact on a bare bottom, but it's a nice reminder of things to come.

Thank you for your guesses. I thought most people would think it was a wooden spoon, but it does look like a shoehorn.

Guess the Implement

It's time again for the monthly Guess the Implement contest. This one won't be as easy as some (although I've said that before and have had to eat my words!) I'm not giving any clues as to its real size, although that in itself might be a clue. You also see only part of the implement.

Leave your guess as a comment, and I will reveal the true identity of this little beauty in a day or two.

Guess the Implement - the Reveal

Thank you all for your guesses as to what the mystery implement might be. They were all so creative, and more than one guess was correct!

The guesses were:

  • A fireplace bellows (2)
  • A fan
  • Something used to dig in the garden
  • A decoration (spade) for a card game
  • One of the hands from a clock
  • A pizza board
  • A decorative hanging plaque (2)
  • A prop from Alice in Wonderland
  • A clock pendulum
  • Part of a fence post
  • A rug beater
  • Something to lift things out of the oven
  • A boat paddle

Here's the flip side of that black whacker.

It's a pretty heart-shaped wall decoration, in honour of my blog.

Guess the Implement

Whatever could this evil black thing be used for, other than spanking?

This will be your last chance this year to play guess the implement, so please leave a comment with your best (or worst) guess. I'll reveal the awful truth tomorrow.
