Moving Day

Recently I received an odd request in my inbox. It was from a website interested in exchanging links with me. Now, I am happy to link to other spanking sites, but not so eager to link to vanilla ones. The website in question was for a moving company. I was invited to suggest the category my blog's link might fall under. Alas, I didn't see a suitable category, except perhaps the ever-popular "miscellaneous".

Why would a moving company want to link to a spanking blog? Do they provide expert assistance in packing and moving canes, paddles and straps? Do they guarantee the dismantling and reassembling of dungeon apparatus? Will they assure the customer that all roleplay outfits will be transported in plain brown wardrobe boxes?

Or maybe they want to be able to reassure clients that no matter where they move to, there will always be like-minded individuals there to welcome them.

I declined the offer.

The Marketing Dept probably noted how many followers you have and wanted to benefit from your creativity. More followers equals more customers. On the funny side, the ad rep who made the inquiry probably would have deserved a really good punishment spanking when one of their other clients followed the link. LOL. The red face of the ad rep in front of the Marketing Manager could probably match the color of a nice warm bottom.

They knew you had such a brilliant and popular blog Hermione.

I thought for a minute you were moving your blog:)

odd! Maybe they want you to remember them when you move to the sunny south, away from the snow.

The deleted comment? Me. Sorry, I now KNOW I need leave...

Can understand why they would like to link to you. A Happy, brilliant blogger with one the quirkiest sense of humour around...

and if ANY of the above is spelt wrong...I need leave. (GRIN)

That is just weird!

Kind of brings a new meaning to the expression "haul a##," doesn't it? :-D

Joeyred - That's entirely possible, but I agree the rep needs a paddling.

Ronnie - Not to worry; I'm staying put!

Red - The company was in the UK so I'm not likely to call them any time soon.

Raven - Thank you for the compliments. And your spelling was perfect.

Erica - LOL! Maybe that's why they contacted me.

I hate those "Bomb every blog" link exchange thingies. The worse one that I ever had was from a company selling childrens T shirts (for 5 -10 year olds). They received a very strongly worded email about using a system that allowed a site offering goods to and for children to target adult orientated blogs for links.

Prefectdt - That's shameful. They should take a little care with their offers.

Poppy - Aww, you're so sweet!
