After a mere 16 months in Canada, Target is closing all its stores and putting thousands out of work. All their merchandise is now discounted between 30% and 50%, so let's go shopping for bargains.
These guys are in a hurry to be at the head of the line when the store opens, but don't they feel a draft?
The atmosphere in the store is sombre, but there's still the opportunity gor a little fun. I guess all the Bs were sold out.
This shopper wants to stock up on party goods. Ten baskets worth.
But this one seems to be having trouble with her cart.
Still, the clientele can't compare with the Walmartians.
That's quite an impressive tattoo.

As I understand it, Target tried to Americanize Canada with its stores, but FAILed. As for me, Target is a place to go and stock up on stuff every 2-3 months, soaps/paper goods/toiletries, and be done, even though we live maybe four miles from the Target. I do not like the store and so it is only utilitarian to me and my wife. And mixing groceries in with everything else is stupid, at least here in the suburbs with big box stores everywhere.

I think that is sad.
Boy though, people get kooky when their is a great bargain! However the Walmatians still hold first place with the eccentric shoppers!
Nothing like good bargains to bring out the crazy, though you still can't beat the walmartians. Wow at the tattoo!

Sorry Target failed, but then looking at the pictures it's understandable.
Hi Hermione, I don't know Target at all, did they try to replace local Canadian supermarkets? The tattoo was walmartian though, wasn't it?

So sorry Target is closing...I don't have one that close to me so I don't shop Target very often. Sheesh...I agree...people do get a little nutso when bargains are advertised. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs and Blessings...

There were many problems with the Target stores, but I think they gave up way too soon. The prices were higher than in their American counterparts, and higher than Walmart. Shelves were often bare and not stocked with advertised merchandise. The pharmacists got screwed too. On the plus side, the stores were very clean and well-organized, and carried a good variety of products, but the bargains just weren't there. Our store was often empty except on weekends.
It must be difficult for the employees to keep up a cheerful front for the remaining customers.
Hugs,
Hermione
