Working in a restaurant is hard work--long hours, low pay, unappreciative customers---but it's no excuse for taking shortcuts that could affect someone's health. And there should be NO compromise in the quality of the ingredients used. Here are a few egregious practices exposed by former employees.
Yuck!

On one hand, no one likes to hear about stuff like this going on, but on the other hand....I have heard stories like this since I was a kid......some even worse......and yet, only rarely do you hear of anyone getting sick.
It seems like humans have a much more rugged constitution than we would like to believe.
Have been to TGI and yes food is pretty bad. There are a few restaurants that buy in precooked chips.

Rather disgusting ... definite FAILS! ... One of the good things about living in a smallish town ... we have only 3 chain/fast food restaurants. The remaining locally owned restaurants are all working hard to attract customers. Hopefully that translates to higher standards. ... nj
UGH i had friends who worked at the 7-11 and they've all told me the slushie machines are totally gross inside. just don't.
They remind me of Gordon Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares. I'm sure things like this go on all over, but I suspect that home cooks are often just as guilty. Have you ever invoked the five second rule?
Hugs,
Hermione
