The Wolf

One of our favourite radio stations is known as "The Wolf", broadcasting in the Santa Rosa area of California. That's a long way from where we live, but thanks to the internet, we can enjoy it every day. It's an Oldies station and plays all the greatest hits from our teen years. When it's time for station identification, an announcer says the call letters "KWVF, The Wolf", then there's a realistic wolf howl.

Recently, during a spanking, I was protesting quite loudly, and my regular "Owww" was more prolonged than usual, and sounded more like "Ooooooowww".

"The Wolf!" Ron pronounced, then he gave his rendition of the station's mascot. "Awoooooooooooooooo."

"Sheesh! Is that what I sound like?"

"If the shoe fits..." Ron illustrated with the shoehorn.

We do have a spanking good time!

Wednesday WIN

For a while now Ron has been browsing the internet for new and different radio stations. Our local stations don't broadcast the kind of music we like, but he has discovered many that do thanks to the internet. Each morning, Ron chooses the station he wants to listen to, using the laptop that sits on the dining room table. The laptop has two small speakers connected to it, and they enable us to hear the music in the kitchen and living room as well.

One of our favourites is a station located in New Zealand. It plays the 50s and 60s music that we both enjoy, and we also find the great time difference amusing. Imagine eating lunch on Sunday while listening to an announcer describing the Monday morning traffic situation to his listeners. Or doing housework on Saturday afternoon while being entertained by a Sunday morning children's program of songs and stories. "Turn the radio down so you don't wake Mum and Dad."

We also find the commercials interesting. There are advertisements for products and services we've never heard of and don't have here. Besides the recorded advertisements, the site also has popup ads that are less appealing. I can't tell you how often I've seen one that flashes and warns us that 21 registry problems have been detected on the computer, and we really need to click HERE, right NOW, to get rid of them. (Yeah, right, pull the other one now.)

Yesterday as I was walking by, I happened to glance at the screen and saw this ad at the bottom of the page:

A popup ad for a spanking site? On an Oldies station? I was intrigued. I know never to click on popups, but as I ran the cursor over the ad, the mouse pointer made an open hand appear. When I moved the mouse, the hand moved too. It was very cool! (Sorry, I couldn't get a screen capture of the hand in the ad.)

I really, really wanted to click and see where I would end up, but common sense prevailed and I simply clicked the X in the top right corner. Maybe next time I see it, I will investigate further. Still, it was an ad that was a WIN for me.

Spanking On the Air

During the drive home from work, I usually listen to an afternoon radio program featuring a pair of lively personalities - Jayne and Steeve - who chat about anything and everything between musical selections.

Last week, Jayne told Steeve that it was her birthday, and she was looking forward to a party that evening.  "Jayne's going to get lots of birthday spankings," she exclaimed. Why she referred to herself in the third person remains a mystery. Maybe she picked it up from George Costanza on a Seinfeld rerun. But she put considerable emphasis on the last word in the sentence.

No more was said that day, but the next afternoon, Steeve asked her about the celebration of the night before. He wasn't familiar with the tradition of birthday spankings, and had some questions.  I'll reproduce the conversation as best I can.

S: So, did you enjoy the party? Did you really get a birthday spanking?

J: Yes, I got lots of them from my friends!

S: So people really do this? You stand there and they come up to you and spank you?

J: Right. I mean, they don't come running up to you from across the room or anything and POW. They just get behind you and do it.

S: So you got twenty-seven spanks?

J: Yes, from each friend. Can't you see the pillow taped to my bum?

S: Well, if you're into that sort of thing.

Maybe she is!

Spanking Blog Featured on Afternoon Radio

Yesterday I was in the car, listening to a program on CBC Radio One while running an errand at lunchtime. The host, Shelagh Rogers, was speaking with Hal Niedzviecki, author of The Peep Diaries:How We're Learning to Love Watching Ourselves and Our Neighbours. I thought the interview would be about Twitter, but imagine my surprise when Hal mentioned one of our blogging friends, padme of Journey to the Darkside.

He described her blog and how it combines details of ordinary daily life with descriptions of oral sex, spankings, and life as a slave. Hal expressed concern that she was providing a lot of personal details that might possibly reveal her identity, but said padme's argument was that anyone who visited her blog would also be implicated by their interest in spanking and so forth, and that was her protection. He also noted that in her case, since she lived in the suburbs, didn't drive or have many friends, and her husband had a full-time job, her blogging life, and the friends who visited daily to watch the videos of her spankings, were her main focus and her reality. (I suppose many of us feel that way to a greater or lesser extent.)

I realized that most of the information was somewhat familiar, and sure enough, this was the same author who had written about padme in an article for the Canadian magazine, The Walrus. Here's the article; scroll down to find padme's portion.

Congratulations, padme. You're famous!
