Protect that tree

We have put up all our indoor Christmas decorations, and today we'll do the outside, weather permitting. Our artificial tree is up, but we are waiting to decorate it. We want to see how our puppy reacts to it first.

What if he pees on it?

Definitely not climbable, but too minimalist for us

The ceiling isn't high enough for the tree to be out of reach, even upside down

A clever idea, but we don't have a cactus to decorate

This fencing is available at Walmart

Ron, go get the expen

As it turned out, the puppy wasn't even mildly interested in the tree. It may be different once the decorations are on it. We shall see!

When we had dogs, we had to remember to not put the candy canes at the level they could get them or they would eat them. The dogs would also inspect all the packages, looking for their treats.

I remember when LJ was nearly two we put the Christmas tree up in the play pen. It worked. Our cat's, when they were little, would climb the tree so we waited before putting the breakable ornaments on until they got bored.

Hope the puppy continues to keep the tree safe. :-) Happy Holidays

hopefully your tree will survive the new puppy stage :)

I remember our standard (big) poodle - she was terrified of the tree ! and would climb up on my dad's lap and cry.

We put our tree up this weekend - our lab "Lady" watched us intently - and then decided it was all too boring and went for a nap :)

LoL Hermione. When we were kids our two young cats we had at the time used to climb the tree. Hope your pup doesn't start to take an interest. The pen is a good idea.

Luckily we never had any problem with our dogs and Christmas trees. Hope your puppy doesn't suddenly decide to take a dislike to the tree.

Love,

When I lived with dogs I remember being worried the first Christmas, but it turns out they were never interested in the tree. Good luck!

Our small dogs are so old…. 15 and 16 they can go out and the next minute pee all over. The tree is a big temptation. I’m thinking the little fence;)
