KDPierre has left the building

Another blogger has silently departed the blogosphere. KDPierre, a regular brunch guest and prolific blogger, has closed his blog, Collected Submissions. 

I'm very sorry to see him go. KDPierre's blog posts were thought-provoking, and he encouraged lively dialogue which, I'm afraid, didn't happen as much as he would have hoped. He often expressed frustration at this, which might be the reason for his departure.

But all is not lost. You can still enjoy KDPierre's stories at the Library of Spanking Fiction.

Do those letters mean what I think they mean?

For entertainment I like to visit Bored Panda.  Every so often I get an email full of links to fun articles on the site. At the end of each article, there is a short bio of the staff member who put it together. I don't often bother to read the bio's, but here's what I saw on one of them.

... has master's degree in Economics he got long time ago in a city far, far away. [He] also worked as a university teacher, sports writer and a BDSM* specialist for several IT companies.

Wait, what? A BDSM consultant for IT companies? What does BDSM have to do with IT? Then I noticed the asterisk after BDSM. I had to click the "read more" to expand the bio, where I found this:

That explains it. Disappointing, though.

What is your least favourite position for spanking?

Bonnie: I'd call it a toss up between the diaper and the ankle grab positions, for the same reason. Both stretch the spankee's bottom in a way that it makes each swat hurt a lot more. 

Jack: My wife always spanks me across her lap; she ensures my legs don't kick and that my arm is pinned to my back. 

Wendel: Not a fan of being bent over the edge of the table. It is not very comfortable.

We don't tend to use a lot of positions. I think my least favorite would be on all fours on the floor, or kneeling in front of Rick paying him some attention while he swats. Potentially dangerous for him too lol. I think we may have only used the diaper position once or twice otherwise that would top the list.

Rick: I enjoy putting a girl over my knee (lap). It is intimate, can be romantic, and stimulates the senses of domination and submission. You can secure her firmly, observe the changing condition of her bottom, and ensure she is not being harmed, nor in danger of harming herself. Other methods such as over the bed, chair, table, etc. are too impersonal. The latter seem more like a vindictive beatdown than a corrective action for a naughty girl.

Barrel: I agree these brunches are gaining in popularity, and a big THANKS to our hostess for inviting us all every week with enticing and thought provoking food for thought. That is what makes this my favorite blog. I encourage more to join in as I learn from all of you each week.

I dislike kneeling on the bench and bending forward to our bed. That’s probably because it stretches the skin on my rear and I usually get the hairbrush or heavy plastic paddle, both of which are nasty.

Anon 1: Diaper position definitely the absolute worse.

Jean Marie: Because I wasn't spanked as a child, I fantasized about being put over a knee and spanked since I was about four years of age, and oh-happy-day, found reality even surpassed fantasy when I got my first OTK adult spanking.
I HATE the diapering position! Besides, as Bonnie stated, the fact that the target is made more vulnerable, I find that I'm more psychologically vulnerable in that position. Being face-up, I see my Top's facial expression as he punishes me (at least until I must scrunch my eyes shut or they are too tear-filled), whereas when OTK, I see only the floor before my nose, and my imagination is engaged.

Rosco: I’m more than twice Irene’s size, so OTK has never been an option. As others note, spanking hurt more when one is bent over and, of course, when there has been no warm up.

But most uncomfortable for me is if my neck is in an uncomfortable position. I like to do my best to relax and breathe as normally as possible - not knowing how hard the next smack will be.

Anon 1: I love over the knee spankings, both giving and receiving. All other positions come in second. 

Dale: Pretty much any position where I have a damp bottom from a recent shower or dip in the pool. 

Prefectdt: For my least favourite position, it is a coin toss between Diaper and lunge. Diaper is annoying and uncomfortable from the start. Lunge is hard to maintain and becomes harder the longer the spanking lasts. Both positions share the disadvantage of making my mind concentrate more on the position and not enough on the spanking.

A.J.: Well, I have tried the diaper position, but she found it too difficult to hold the position without help, I found it difficult to help and swat away, and thought a miss might be too damn painful. Me in that position? Same thing. So we went back to OTK, over the arm of a couch, or over a bolster.

But that may not be the worst position for me or the GF.
More than the diaper position - being tied down or restrained to some piece of equipment.

Windy: I actually found the position that Roz mentions, hubby spanking her while she gives him some attention, kind of sexy! Storm did that once and it was a major surprise to me, to say the least! Just don't grind your teeth during that, Roz! lmao

Hate the diaper position...feel like an idiot. We don't use it past the 1 time where he was experimenting.

My fav for comfort is bending over the yoga ball. Works good for those of us with bad knees and bad backs. Comfy on the tummy. OTK is intimate, but uncomfortable.

Lastly, I find the grabbing by the ankles kinky even though we have never done it!

Hermione: I would never be able to grab my ankles; I'm just not that flexible. I hope Ron never asks me to assume that position! Sadly, OTK is uncomfortable for me, although it is my go-to position for erotic fantasies.

Tax Time

Our tax returns were due on April 30. We got them done a week earlier, thanks to Ron's urging and my previous preparation. For the last few years we have used free software to prepare our returns, and I had already downloaded the latest version for us. It's pretty simple to use, but Ron always has trouble, and I was on standby for an hour or two while he struggled to enter his figures. He's just not technically-minded, and I often wonder what he would do if I wasn't around to supply technical support.

Update on our taxes: About ten minutes after I had submitted our returns electronically, we each got an email from the Canada Revenue Agency saying our returns had been received, evaluated, and here's what we owe. Such efficiency!

How do you feel about marks?

Dan: I don't mark nearly as much as I did the first few years after we got into spankings. There is something I miss about it, though I'm not sure why. I think my wife also gets a little disappointed when she gives me a very hard spanking yet there are no visible marks the next day.

Wendel: We love the marks. It is quite the turn on to see the Misses’ pretty little bottom turning red from a spanking and the red stripes appearing during a whipping. 

Brett: The marks that last at least a few days before they fade away are important. They are the tangible evidence that a punishment was received and how it was administered. It's a huge embarrassment if anyone sees them, but that anxiety is part of the dramatic experience.

Bonnie: Yes, we like marks that persist for a while. It's frustrating to absorb what I thought was a hard spanking only to have no visible evidence an hour later.

The only exception is before a gynecologist appointment. I think I could explain those marks, but I really don't want to have to do that.

Anon 1: Leaving marks is important; leaving distinct handprints even better IMO.

Barrel: We both love the marks. As the bearer, I cherish them. I believe marks are a badge of honor and the longer I have them, the better.

To wear them for more than a few days, the session must be quite intense. We haven’t had one of those for some time, so we have begun daily practice with two delrin canes, working on her standing position, her aiming points, where the safe zone is, extending her reach without wrapping, etc… We even put pen marks on my butt to help better define the top/bottom of the preferred landing zone. These practice strokes are at a 3 or 4 of an intensity level of 1 -10, so daily practice is tolerable. My wife said after our last practice, she can’t wait to be comfortable delivering 10’s consistently with the thin cane over an extended session, which will undoubtedly leave extensive marks. Anticipation is a great emotion…until it comes to the time for the actual receipt…but I will be ready and welcoming.

Anon 2: My partner punishes me when I have really misbehaved and boy does she know how.
A spanking session (both with her hand and various implements) gets me right on track again and it is yes ma'am, no ma'am for many days!
She feels that, other then “recreational spankings” which we do also, a punishment session should be painful and humiliating.

Well, I cry during the session, I am unable to sit or sleep on my back for days and I truly feel like the little naughty boy that I am.

Fred Bloggs: I love marks, and I favour implements that leave marks that persist for several days. As I get older I find I mark more easily and they take longer to heal. 

Roz: I love having marks. Evidence and a reminder of the spanking. It's like a badge of honour.

Simon: I love the marks I get and wear them with pride. Since I'm especially fond of the cane I can often be found with the lines showing. Another implement I enjoy is the carpet beater which leaves lovely patterns on the bottom of the receiver. I have sometimes forgotten I've got very visible evidence of a thrashing on my bottom and either had to explain them to a doctor or be very careful when getting changed in public changing rooms. It's not that I'm ashamed of them but I can't be bothered with the explanations and the questions that follow. 

Rich Person: It's been a bit, but I liked seeing them and felt a special connection with my partner when she was bearing them. It's very intimate.

Anon 3: I believe welts and bruises should be an accepted fact of a spanko's life. I love them and display them with pride. As I've mentioned in previous posts we are totally open with family and friends about our spanking lifestyle and many have seen the damage done from one of wife's razor strappings. Fortunately I've never had to explain them in a public setting, doctor or gym.

Anon 4: Like many I love it when I have visible marks. She is titillated when she finds me in front of the mirror looking over my shoulder to admire them. To me they reinforce my internal feeling of being a sissy submissive. I think people who know us know that there is something different about our relationship dynamic. I really wish my marks would be more visible so they could see them. But I’ve never had marks that last for several days.

I, too, LOVE to be marked from discipline! If they are really vivid, I call them universes and galaxies of color across my backside. They can be addictive; I have been known to ask for more punishment while still marked and bruised from the last session so as to make them more intense. I recall that it was not always so, however. I remember the first time I got up in the morning after a really thorough paddling to see marks on my butt in the mirror and I FREAKED OUT. I wondered what it said about me that I craved discipline and that this was the by-product. Then I reconciled myself to the fact that it proclaimed I was a spanko!

Jack: My wife does not want to leave marks, she prefers to ensure I have a very red, sore, bottom.

Prefectdt: I love having marks and can sometimes mark up pretty good during a spanking, but they fade so fast and most are gone in less than an hour. Not like when I first started getting spanked as an adult, the marks could last for weeks, back then. Sometimes a really heavy caning can leave some stripes that last a day or two, but that has to be very severe, to achieve that.

Rosco: It’s definitely fun to have something to show for an intense spanking. The color from Irene’s paddle or strap tends to fade pretty quickly, though she often requires I look at my hot red bottom in the mirror.

The riding crop, the quirt (ouch) and especially switches more often leave marks. I cherish them. Once in a while an arrant blow will wrap around to the far hipbone and all sense of fun evaporates for a moment.

I take blood thinner medication so I bruise easily but that’s never been a problem with TTWD, thankfully.

I’ve an appointment for a spanking in about 4 hours - will see if Irene marks me up a bit.

Loki_Darksong: I love and enjoy marks. Both giving and receiving them.

When giving them I always make it as artistic as possible and not haphazardly over the place.

When I receive them it is a reminder of the scene I've been in. One that can be revisited as the marks fade. Due to my skin color it is rather difficult to get say cane welts on my backside which can be disappointing at times. The last time I had any decent markings was after my 21st birthday at Paddles.

Hermione: I seldom mark any more, but Ron used to enjoy telling me how red my bottom was the day after a spanking. Like most of you, I love them.
