Where are they now?
Secret Spanko wrote an interesting post called Class Reunion, about the blogs that appeared with his when Bonnie introduced them in October, 2011 . Sadly, many of those blogs are no longer active.
I decided to do the same. This is the list of blogs that appeared on the April Showers Edition of In with the New in April, 2008. Where are they now?
Hearts and Paddles This blog was never updated after it was introduced.
Her Secret Corner has been inactive for over two years.
Hermione's Heart Hey, that's me! I'm still here.
Loving Discipline G and his blog are still around, but posting is infrequent.
Luvbunny's Journey was deleted in March, 2011.
Positively Spanking Cheryl's blog is still going strong.
Spanked Partner is long gone.
The Discipline Blog of Mark was made private in September, 2010 and later deleted.
This Girl's Life Sierra hasn't updated her blog for over two years.
That was fun! Does anyone else want to give it a try?

Very interesting. I went and checked. Of the 8 Dd blogs that were introduced at the same time as mine, only two of us are active writers. A couple others still exist but haven't been updated in a long time.
Hermione,
I have been thinking about this topic recently. I did not follow any of the blogs listed in March 2012 when I started because I already had an extensive reading list. Many of the bloggers on my original list are now inactive. Some were good "virtual" friends and I miss their posts. About 60% of the bloggers on the list are now inactive. Often, a busy vanilla life was the reason for their inactivity.
For me, it is a sad moment when a favorite blogger stops updating.
Hug,
joey
Might be very interesting - I'll go back and look.
Hugs,
PK
I still miss Poppy & Kitty!! Wish they would come back.
Susie - How sad that most of them didn't survive.
Joey - It's sad for me too, especially when it's a sudden closure, with no explanation.
PK - I'd be interested in the results.
Anon - I miss them both too.
Hugs,
Hermione
I've only been around a year, Kitty is the one that comes to mind because it happened w/o any notice. The others like D for Desire said she was taking a sabbatical. Still others have not posted in a long time but the blogs are still up.
Hermione,
Yes, sad that some never survive. Always wonder why.
From the 12 Bonnie introduced only 4 still surviving (including me:)) Was surprised to read that Jflame (remember her)was introduced at the same time as me. Doesn't blog now but I do see her pop up in comments over at Devs.
Love,
Ronnie

How do I find out if I am on a list?? :) I'm so new it'd be funny if I am and if others are already gone.
The blog that introduced me to CDD in the form we wanted was already years old when I read it, but it still gets comments approved, but no one has updated in 2 years.
Sunnygirl - That's a pretty good outcome.
Ronnie - Jflame is now blogging as Jay Walker.
Young Lady - Your blog appeared in this In with the New.
Thank you!!! Wow, a LOT of the ones listed with me only posted for a like a month and have not updated since... although I guess that could have been me since I took a like 6 weeks break :-p
That's a very interesting exercise. Would you mind if I tried it too?
It is hard to keep a blog going for a long time so it's not surprising that there are so many gone.

What a cute idea! I've only been around since April of this year, so I doubt it would work for me... still, I'll go check! :) Fun to read, thanks, Hermione!
interesting.. Glad you are still posting. I have no idea when Bonnie advertised my blog.
bottoms up

Do you know what happened to Poppy?
Kiki
Hi, Hermione. Thank you for your nice words about me on Bonnie's post introducing new blogs earlier this week. I don't know how I missed it, but I just saw it and commented to her.
I read some of the old blogs when I first started reading about ttwd. Some were already defunct when I read through them, others have faded away since then. I hadn't commented on any of them, but I came to feel I "knew" these people.
It's odd how we can grow to care for perfect strangers, and worry when they simply disappear without a word. I like that you took the time to check and report on the status of your "blog mates."
{Hugs}
Young Lady - Many bloggers don't seem to have the ability to continue like you have.
Prefectdt - Please do. You were introduced in this In with the New.
Rosie - Let us know what you find.
Red - I'm glad too. Bonnie introduced you in this In with the New.
Kiki - No, I'm sorry to say. That's a mystery to all but a select few. Perhaps someday we'll all find out what happened.
Irishey - It is amazing how close we can become to people we have never met face to face. I wish I had known some of the early bloggers before they stopped blogging.
Hugs,
Hermione
Hi Hermione,
What fun! I didn't realize I was writing history. In fact, I always considered IwtN an investment in the future.
Padme is the only blogger I can think of who started when I did and is still around.
For those inclined to explore defunct blogs, I recommend the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. Some of the content you thought was gone forever may not be truly gone at all. Hint: If you don't know the URL of the blog you seek, check the blogrolls of contemporary blogs.
Hugs,
Bonnie
Bonnie - It's sad that there's only one of your contemporaries still around. Thanks for the reminder about the Wayback Machine. It's been very useful in the past. There are a few blogs, gone before my time, that I'd like to explore.
Hugs,
Hermione
I started a blog, and went no where with it. Seems I'm more of an occasional commenter. I think it's good that some blogs stay strong while the rest of us disintegrate, only the strong and those who can adapt to change survive. ;)
I quit doing link posts several years ago, although they're still in my archives. I just went back through and was surprised to find 14 different blogs that are still pretty regularly updated. Of course that's out of probably over a hundred.
Tracy was a huge influence around the time I was getting started. Her link posts were a major reason why MBS didn't fade into obscurity.
My In with the New feature traces its linage directly back to Tracy. By the time she decided to take her blog in a different direction, I was well positioned to assume this role.
Thank you, my dear friend, for setting a great example and for sharing a really good idea.
Hugs,
Bonnie
fB - I was a regular visitor to your blog, but blooging isn't for everyone. I'm glad you are still commenting.
Angelbrat - That was before my time, but it was a great idea.
Bonnie, I'm so glad you were there to take the reins. I hardly think I can take credit for MBS not fading into obscurity lol - you're very sweet to say so though. :) Your blog is a much bigger influence than mine ever was!
Hugs,
Tracy
