Friday Fail
I found this magnet at a dollar store. It's fairly large - about five inches square - and designed to be screwed or nailed to a wall as well as stuck onto a metal surface.
I find it quite disturbing that something like this would be available on the shelves. It's one thing to make playful references to spanking, but this looks quite serious. Where on earth would someone hang something like this? And why?
What do you think?

Q. Where on earth would someone hang something like this?
A. At my job...
I've seen those in offices people think it is funny,I don't.
I remember we had a very similar sign at the office a few years back.
The caretaker put it up, thought it was very funny but was only around for a few days when somebody complained and he had to take it. down.
Hope you have a good weekend Hermione.
Love,
Ronnie
xx
Get8More - Welcome!
Scunge - I don't either.
Ronnie - So these are fairly common after all.
Hugs,
Hermione
I'm not sure but I think that that is a misquote (said the fairy godmother of misquoting). As far as memory serves it should go "The beatings will continue until morale improves".
Prefectdt
Yep, I have seen this before. We are weird enough to joke about our "beatings" but this makes it all kind if yuck.
I've heard this saying many times before, but never saw that graphic. I don't like it either! If it were a little more innocuous, more spanky looking, that would be aan improvement, but this is too violent. I give it a "fail" as well. -- Erica
Prefectdt - We all know you are the king of misquoting! Spankings would do a lot to improve morale, that's certain.
Sara - Definitely yuck in my book too.
Erica - I agree, it could be much improved with a hairbrush and bared bottom, but this is not consensual.
Hugs,
Hermione
Obviously, its a joke, but in the light of todays society, a fairly sick joke...
I could take it at face value and smile then ignore it; however, there are so many real victims of abuse in todays society, and they have low self esteem as a result, that seeing this would be very traumatic for them. And so many never report abuse or tell others about it, it could be your workmate and you wouldn't know...so, I agree, Hermione. Not acceptable!
The concept can be funny, but I agree that this graphic is disturbing, and should not be sold in the store. Did you complain about the violence depicted to the owner?
