As of last week, because of the recent increase in covid-19 cases, everyone in my city as well as a good deal of the surrounding countryside must wear a mask in all public buildings. "Mask required" signs are in the windows of all the shops. Because we are Canadians, we don't complain about our civil rights being violated; we simply obey. Two weeks ago, when I went to the beer store, not one person waiting in either of the lines (one line for people returning empties and one line for no empties) wore a mask. Last Sunday, everyone's face was covered.

All good ones. Our cases in the US are surging because people are far more concerned about their rights than their health or the health of others. In our city, people are wearing masks in all the stores and that is a very good thing.

I wish masks were compulsory in the UK. We only have to wear them on public transport and visiting hospitals. Other places an shops up to the individual.
